I was at the game and I have to say it was a decent performance once we overcame Plymouth's early spell of controlled possession. We moved the ball around well and certainly matched them in the midfield, although we were lacking a touch in the final third again.

On several occasions Rovers players - mainly Easter - had opportunities to shoot from just outside the box but decided to pass instead in what were clear instances of when we showed a lack of confidence. The defence was very solid apart from a few minutes in the second half when Nicholls had to make a fantastic save and we survived a couple of goalmouth scrambles. For their goal we just got caught short on the right side of our defence and couldn't deal with a dangerous low cross.

We looked much more of a threat when Harrison came on as his pace gave Plymouth something to think about and he often got in behind. He wasted his first chance as he took the shot too early when well placed but was a constant menace from then on. It was good to see Lucas come on and his presence absolutely played a part in the build-up to the penalty. It was a clear penalty as Harrison had got to the ball first, but given some of the decisions we've had lately I still thought there was a slight chance of it not being given.

The ref btw was absolutely right not to send off McCormick (there's only so much you can gauge from the radio CJS and Seamge :) Harrison didn't have the ball under control so it wasn't a clear goalscoring opportunity for me. But given the fact he had to wait a long time to take the penalty he converted it very well, and probably should have won it for us with that header in added time.

A point though is very pleasing especially to end our run of defeats and that we went behind so late and the players could have responded a whole lot differently. Let's not get ahead of ourselves on Lucas, he made a good impact but the way some of my fellow Rovers supporters (SEAMGE!!!) seem to talk about him suggests he's the new Rickie Lambert or something. Who knows? He could be, but for now he is still very much unproven in the Football League.

My final point is on some of the trouble that flared up in the away end, particularly in the first half. We were searched <grr> before going through the turnstile and the stewarding in the ground was over zealous and aggressive at times. Some of the behaviour from Rovers fans was unsavoury and disorderly, but the stewards exacerbated the situation and swore at the fans as often as the fans swore at them.
