Depends on how you see it. The goal and assist would take him from a 4 to a 6 at best. He had an absolute shocker other than that.

Don’t care about Leicester. S’ton and Ipswich keep winning.

I already know it’s going to go to last day of season. We’ll need to beat S’ton to go up autos, we will outplay them, hit the woodwork 4 times, have 2 cast iron penalties turned down, and they will score at the end of an unfeasibly long stretch of Fergie time.

Then in the play offs…….. you don’t want to know

Gray and Summerville were very average today and to a degree so was Rutter, though its difficult to criticise when you score and provide an assist!

Job done today, not the best performance by far, but it’s points that matter today and for the rest of season.

I agree regards PB. I’m certainly not his greatest fan regards finishing, but just feel we play much better with him uptop. I also like Piroe as a late change option, when defenders are perhaps not as sharp.

For all the criticism that Meslier gets on here, think his passing out has improved massively. He also dealt with the high ball today (for a change). Rodon’s good at this level, but he’s not for me as a likely PL defender. Not surprised Spurs would let him go.

I realise I’m in the minority here, particularly with Daniel Farke so in fairness I don’t have a leg to stand on but I think Klaessen looks like the better keeper specially with dealing with crosses into the box.

I've just said on the other thread that the biggest compliment to Klaesson as a third choice keeper is that Meslier (and Darlow to a lesser extent) were not missed in the slightest when he deputised.

I'm not sure there would have been an outrage if Klaesson had kept his place when Meslier returned from injury. He did nothing wrong and actually made some very good saves, dealt with crosses and was very good with his feet. He should consider himself unlucky to be dropped given his performances.

Not unlucky at all as Meslier is the superior keeper as well as having over 180 first team appearances under his belt.

Agreed though Klaesson did nothing wrong and deserves praise for his performances.

I understand that Meslier is the senior keeper but if a keeper comes in, plays really well, keeps clean sheets and genuinely does everything right he should feel like he deserves a few more games.

As long as we keep clean sheets and continue winning I don't really care if Farke himself plays in goal at this point.

Calming Kelleher is a cracking understudy at Liverpool. Personally can’t understand he seems happy to play second fiddle. He deputised well when Alison wasn’t available but there was never a suggestion of him holding his place when Alison was again fit. He gets the odd fa cup or cardboard game. Just the way it is

It does seem that way with keepers.

I remember Kiko being first choice here and looking a bit **** and miss. We had a young lad on loan who played in the cup at Arsenal and was decent. He was dropped next game. He ended up finishing the season in goal as first choice due to Kikos ban. We ended up signing him permanently. His name is Ilian Meslier and he's played nearly 200 times for us. Alot of fans after the game at Arsenal said he should retain his place. Does that make them right with hindsight?

Sometimes unexpected things happen and players get a run of games to make a position their own. It happened with Meslier and we may not have even signed him if Kiko hadn't been suspended.

If it was just based on experience and games played we'd still be wheeling out John Lukic or Casper Ankergren.

On a similar note. Where is Bailey peacock Farrell these days. Didn’t he become second choice at Burnley or something. Never rated him. Was at a game against Birmingham with monk managing them and he let in two howlers
