For me the team was picked on the basis that we wouldnt get a result, which has slightly back fired. We will not doubt have his favoured selections and set up in the next home game.

You cant expect players like Jerome, Palcious, Pennant etc... to perform when they get bit part roles, they have to have a run of games with the correct team mates around them!

    Happy with the point!

Said that to my mate this morning. Jerome HAS to start every game from now on in I think! Same with Pennant/Palacios but had Matty been fit last night who knows how Mr P thinks. Surly if your'e car is running OK and it was looking pretty solid last night. Don't mess around with it.. wink wink Tony!

Jerome has to play on Saturday - else he WILL be banging on the manager's door to ask WHY.
If Ethers is fit do you think he will play bith him and Pennant - I have my doubts.

Citeh are beatable, ask Swansea, and Stoke usually raise their game at home against the top teams, so I would not be surprised if we get something (at least a draw) on Saturday. Here's hoping

I said the same on another thread, I really fancy a result this Saturday, just start with the right 11 on the pitch, not off it! We can do it. It's just that maybe Pulis thinks we can't.. as with last night i.e. Spurs are a very, very good side, he say's this every week. He does my head in every time he say's it. Lot's of very, very good sides Chelsea, So are Man Utd and they didn't beat us at home.

Just GO FOR IT! who knows we've nothing to lose.

So 7 games to go and only really Arsenal as a big name club to play does anyone think any different to when this thread was started? After a couple of excellent performances/results against Man City & Spurs and a couple of spirited performances against Liverpool & Chelsea I have changed my prediction. I now think we will make 11th - 13th by picking up aroun 5 points out of 21 points available in our remaining fixtures. Thoughts?

    Well I said previosly 14th/17th Smither's
Also said I thought 12th would be the best I thought possible and I have not yet changed my mind tbh.. I can see another Wigan this weekend becasue of two reasons. I think Pulis will AGAIN change the team, not give the lads a chance to put right last weekend and 2nd, Pressuere is off Wolves as I think they know they are dooimed and certainly the fans do. They will just attack us and go for it.

IF we can get a win this weekend maybe higher than 12th as I'm sure we'll give Arsenal a decent game simply becasue it's Arsenal and what's happened before in previous games. I'll stick with 12th as Swansea, Norwich and Everton all those above us will pick up pts too!

Would love a top 10 finish I just can't see it happening.

    I'm pretty confident we'll get a result.
There will be changes though I reckon, after Pennants outburst I think he'll be back on bench duty, so we'll probably make do with either Shotts or Walters on the right. I think Jerome will start too.

Ideally, it should be both wingers, Jerome up front, and Shotts at RB, and Walters on the bench, but the former is more likely.

I think your right Pistol on both who should play and who will probably play, but regardless we have enough within the squad to get a result against Wolves. In relation to team selection, formations, tactics etc...... its difficult to kow whats best when we dont seem to give our best team/setup a decent run of games. Regardless of who they are, its difficult to get going when you start one week, then on the bench, then come on as a sub etc..... I know that the squad has to rotate but I would like to see a decent run for some of the guys who havent had a look in.

I honestly think that if Pulis is bold enough/brave enough to play the same 11 or maybe Palacios for Whitehead or Whelan we have a great chance this weekend. But as you say he has this habbit of not giving player's a run of games. During the Euros I could partly understand why he didn't. But now? all we have is the league and as many points as possible to play for.. heard that Ether's is struggling and after being clattered v Liverpool then Wigan no wonder he's knackered.

Mabye Shotton but I still insist that Pennant and Shotts can both play with Wilko at full back.. as is usual we never know what T.P. will do let's just hope they are still hurting after the Wigan game and we go for it.. Surly the 11 that started the Wigan game would not perform like that every week.

Hopefully they just had a bad day at the office rather than losing the will to play a system that they either dont like or cant play?

I think that was the case Smithers, didn't see the game, only heard it on the radio, we had a good first 10 minutes, and then fell apart. Maybe instead of telling Pennant do be more defensive was wrong, but who knows, if we'd have attacked, we may have had a better game, or it may have just opened us up more, but overall, squad selection was good and tactics weren't bad, just a little indecisive. Every player seemed a little off the mark from what I heard, everyone made a few individual mistakes, and I think after playing so well against Man City, we had pressure to have another good game, and it effected the teams confidence.

Exactly how I heard it on radio.. and we didn't take the right choice of pass when we we're well on top either.. like you said a bad day all round. Funny thing was Pennant seemed to be doing well early on until he too got clattered.. Wilko was **** poor unusual for him so maybe that's why Jermaine was playing so deep..
Same with Etherington he was taken out of the game simple as. (edit) "hacked out of it"

Either way I was happy with the line up, but why we played so badly is because all bar a couple we're well off the pace after 15/20mins.

So 14th - 17th it was. Was the Coates' expectation or will he be dissapointed with our final finishing position?

If I am so should Mr Coates and his family be? We've actually gone backwards.. stats PROVE IT. Will P.C. do anything about it? We can but hope but it won't happen I'm afraid. ONE fan almost bit my head off walking out the stadium when I said, an new guy would get us playing football.. He said " Look where we we're FIVE yrs ago"
And that I needed my head read. <yikes>

"Look where we were 5 years ago" - just goes to prove how many Ostriches support Stoke

I have reread my comments and your latest. Also the fact that you are staying away whilst TP is in charge. So you seem disheartened as well at present.

My concern is that TP does not seem to have any clue really when we are in the opposition half. This is where he needs to come up with ideas and allow players some frredom of expression.

I know exactly where we were 5 years ago and whilst I am eternally grateful for what has been achieved since then I believe that with the players he has TP should be achieving more. IT seems that he certainly this year has not used his resources effectively. So for me to change my mind on that is to score goals, have more possession, and be more flexible in his approach.

We were told of the 3 year plan now he has said it is a 5 year plan. If TP does not change his approach I think next season could be very long.

However, as I said I will continue to bear witness to the progress the team make from my seat and support the team through thick and thin. Not just coem back when TP goes. I think it sad that Waddo has not renewed, by the sounds of it Smithers is no longer prepared to go as often. But supporting your team is all about ups and downs.

If I am talking rubbish no doubt you will let me know!

Very constructive and valid points. However it becomes a matter of principle and its difficult to over look the way the fan base has been treated.
