Holloway has lost more games at QPR than he did at Millwall in fewer games.
These stats comparing to previous Managers aren't really accurate though. Ollie''s predecessors had better players available to them on bigger Budgets. We are 17th in the Championship, 6 points off the relegation places, which when you look at our squad and the Budget, is about what you'd expect imo. If we have a really good Manager lined up who can get more out of the players we have, great, and thanks for your good work Ollie, but I'll be very surprised.
I believe a better manager would get more from our players in terms of playing them in their best positions and not making a square peg fit in a round hole. Saying that, Tonys managerial selections have not inspired me one little bit so in hindsight I have very little confidence in him finding a suitable replacement if Holloway were to go. Ian Taylor could advise him again I'm sure
Let's be honest here DT. Who has got us in to this unnecessary financial mess? Who has tweeted the earth and delivered very little. If caring is financially crippling a club then I could well do without that! And to answer your question, who knows where we would finish? I highlight the short comings in this formation ian tinkers with, you then shoot them down but cant come back with anything other than these people care. I am honestly intrigued at to what makes you think things are working TACTICALLY at QPR. Genuine quetion.
just to clarify my thoughts and not something you think sky tv invented. A wing backs majority of play will be defending depending on ball retention of advanced players. If in possession as a wing back, your options of a pass are much more limited to a pass inside midfield or a direct ball to a forward. The centre of the park is most crowded we have 3 in there but scowen likes to drop deep often not forward of the said wing back in possession. The retention of the ball is KEY to enable the team to move forward. If and when a centralised player has the ball he is then relying on either great movement from a striker and a killer pass or for his wing back to catch him up and often over take the line of the ball to offer another option using the WIDTH of the pitch. With players like Smith your ball/pass/cross has to hit him as his movement isn't the best. If and when it brakes down then that wing back has to pelt it back to the defensive position again. Would 2 midfielders be worse than 3? Depends on work rate and ball retention. Having a full back behind a winger not only stretches the opposition but enables the winger to concentrate on his attacking like pavel did so ever well before. It gives advanced options for central midfielders, it gives more options for strikers like Smith. Ian stumbled upon two number 10's. That's because he knows smiths movement is limited so needs players close to him when we play a direct ball up to him. What do we do when we pick up that 2nd ball, what options are there? Do we look wide and wait for pavel and Bidwell to catch up by which time so has the defensive team? To top it off we play a left back not a wing back in Bidwell and he keeps trying cousins on the right????? How do we stop the opposition's full backs from advancing at will. Think about the space in front of them to move in to before they get closed down. Often more than not we concede and then just throw people up front to pump it up to. I appreciate ian wants to get back in to the game and in someways admire his optimism for this as it has worked but if plan 'a' isn't working and plan 'b' is hoof ball then surely you look at how things could be different. Someone said in another post that we got played through in a 4-4-2 this season. I have yet to see us play 4-4-2 but will stand corrected if anyone can tell me when.
Are you sure you're quoting the right post? I wasn't quoting stats of previous managers. My post was clarifying that Holloway was bought in to guide us to a playoff spot as SLF thought JFH was failing. It was in response to DT's post that 17th isn't backwards.
All planning is great until kick off, after that, tactics go out the window and it comes down to action and reaction. Everyone knows this.
Whichever way and whatever angle you look at this season, it has been a disaster.
Our league position has been a faultering and stumbling downward slope - the danger is we still have further to fall (I just hope not)
Team selections have been best described as tombola selections baffling fans and football writers/commentators alike for a year now.
Performances from team selections have been bad enough to stop more and more fans from going to games.
Many believe we have a promising team that could do better.
To be quite honest I have been torn up about which is the best path to take - move Holloway on now or wait until the seasons end.
My personal gamble, without any inside knowledge of the club and their business strategy, would be to stick with Holloway until the end of the season. Purely because I think it will give us the best options at the end of the season. I have lost all faith in Holloway I’m afraid, but believe it is our best option now. However if we lose to Burton this weekend that could seriously tip me towards replacing him immediately.
I believe we would have a better opportunity to spend the right time looking at finding the right replacement and offering them the opportunity of taking the club to the next stage of its development - both with the current squad and the clear strategy that is going on right now to get in young talent and develop them through to the first team - a strategy I am completely behind; it has a large element of gamble, but is less costly than the silly money transfers that go around.
We are in desperate need of a very good coach and very good coaching team. Our first team squad isn’t bad and could be much better with decent coaching - many of our players have not improved during their time here... that is wholly a coaching responsibility.
Too many times I am hearing of how many players have underperformed - the law of averages says it can’t all be just the selection of bad players. We have bought some very promising players. It must be related to our lack of coaching ability within the club to maximise our investments. We are expecting very good coaches within our youth development squads, we should absolutely be expecting it of our first team coaches - and it’s not happening.
Being a QPR man through and through will only take you so far. Coaching ability is what we desperately need: Tactical capability. Coaching players to higher levels. Maximising players abilities in their best positions whenever possible. Building a team with desire to win and have fun as a team. To play without fear.
To have fans excited, proud, become the ‘12th man’ and queueing at the gates.
The growing talk is of unhappiness with the way things are with the manager and his results (DT apart; admiration for your upbeat approach DT, but the facts are all against you my friend). Fans talking with their feet. There is no doubt change has to happen. There are managers out there who will come - I have no doubt about that. We MUST move forward (17th is not forward). The rest of the season feels like it will be heart in the mouth time every single match.
I just pray that we can survive the drop and make the right choices and changes at the end of the season. Because change HAS to happen.

Nines it doesn't matter what you say as there are fans out there who think Hollow can do no wrong and will not believe what others say.
Many posters on here and other places mocked some who questioned his appointment, they put all their blind faith in him and now it has backfired they are trying to defend him at all costs to save face.
The blokes record is shocking and fans would never stand for this if it was anyone else. They are living in the past. Holloway lost it years ago (if he ever had it). Palace, Millwall were warning signs but were ignored.
He was brought in to appease the fans when things were at a low point for the board.
He should never have been appointed and the sooner we get rid the better.
It's not much to ask for a proper manager.

Based on that we urgently need a new manager who as we all wished needs to ideally be a QPR man and gives up and coming players from lower leagues the chance to play in a side that works hard and is proud to wear the badge.

We need Harry Redknapp back ASAP as he got a win rate of 34.29% however he doesn't do training or tactics
Over 64% of this forum thought we may make mid table at best before this season started
7 points separated 14th to 21st position on the final table last season
We finished with 53 points and 18th position
We current need 23 points to equal last years point total from a possible 60 points available so therefore IH needs to up his win rate by at least 4% if he can find the dressing room as he may of lost it!
We are doomed plus if it snows agains the UK could enter a new ice age
