I have today returned from a 5 week visit to a family member who does not have an internet connection or similar technology in her part of the world. The only source of UK news available was BBC World News and from that I know that PL has gone and been replaced by CH. That is all I know. To save me hours of searching archives of EDP etc could someone fill me in on what else has happened. Who did PL take with him? Has CH brought any backroom staff with him? What has happened to the out of contract players? Any other comings and goings? etc etc. Thanks in advance.

How was Outer *****lia?

@1950canary

Out: Paul Lambert, Adam Drury (also, earlier, Wilbraham, Whitbread)
In: Chris Hughton, Colin Calderwood, Paul Trollope
Returned: Ewan Chester (Chief Scout)
Unsettled: Grant Holt
New contracts: Russell Martin, Andrew Surman
Stated to be very happy: John Ruddy

Welcome back; myself, I'd love a news blackout. <ok>

Thanks folks. One final question - weren't there other players such as Ward and Francomb out of contract? Robbie - If you want a news blackout go to the Solomon Islands. Only a local English speaking radio station for whom there are no other places for news interest outside of the Solomons and the same with the TV which has 1 local station ( no good if you don't speak the local language ), an entertainment channel beamed in from Australia and BBC World News. Neither the Radio or TV are 24 hours and there were no newspapers written in English. It was absolutely lovely once you had recovered from the hair raising flights after you leave Australia and the local ferry and road trip to where my Brother in Law lives!!!

<ok> Sounds like heaven. Any spare air miles anyone?

No need for air miles, mate, simply disconnect your internet, trash your pc and tv, and move to Thetford... job done!!

<ok>

That might work for a Town supporter welly, but you can hear Carrow Road from Thetford. <ok>

Once again thanks for the updates. The thing that puzzles me is the backroom staff. We now seem to have a Manager, an Assistant Manager, 2 First Team Coaches, 2 Chief Scouts and Gary Karsa - quite handy for a new Manager but is that really realistic? PL always said that he relied on Culverhouse and has always taken him and Karsa with him. Is it expected that they will also join Villa soon or has PL agreed to work with the Coaches etc already there? Sorry if this was all discussed whilst I was away but I do find the situation curious.

Culverhouse and karsa are apart of a new coaching setup and will be remaining with the club according to Mr. Mcnally! PL was wanting them to follow him but that now does not look like the case, and will be interesting to see how PL can cope without his very trusted assistant <ok>

I totally agree with this, as they have been a 'team' since Wycombe days and interesting days ahead at Villa, especially when PL has stated that he wants to see crowds approaching 40,000 at Villa Park. I know I won't be going there next season, as it was really expensive for away fans - about £45 I seem to remember!!!
