Like most of us probably, I am resigned to losing Buendía before next season. But for his sake I hope he is willing to hold out for a club that deserves him. And that means a truly big club either in the UK or in Spain or Germany or Italy. Please, Emi, don't end up going to somewhere like Palace or Leeds just because they can triple your wages.

I would be fine him going to Everton, but think he should aim higher. I will groan if he goes to Aston Villa or Newcastle. What a waste.

It is a reason I still think we might just keep him for the first half of next season (IF we get promoted).

I've read that Emi moved from Argentina to Spain to one day play in La Liga. He's now had a taste of the PL. It depends on the type of football he wants to play and where his heart is. I hope wherever he wants to go coincides with the highest offer NCFC get.

I hope Emi will stay, I’m not sure why he would stay with us when relegated only to leave once we have been promoted. He’s a big fish here, I think he likes that.

Someone on Twitter asked how his numbers compare to De Bruyne and James Rodriguez over 90 mins... James Rodriguez averages 1.7 kp/90 in the league, KDB is 3kp/90 and Emi is 3.4 kp/90 <magic>
