Agreed!! Your team then just tore teams apart for fun. Also think the team you had in the mid 90s with Eric Cantona at the helm was better on paper than the 99 one, at least domestically!!!
Players I can't stand .....uhm!!! Fabregas for getting Arteta sent off when Arsenal played Everton a few seasons ago!! And that Brazilian guy who faked a facial injury at the corner flag against Turkey in a World Cup in Japan!!!!!
This guy is not a footballer but just completely horrid "Bill Cash" MP for Stone!! The guy is insane with his extreme views!!!
Never mind on paper, it was. The 94 double winning side was magnificent. As was 96. And before anyone states the obvious and says it failed to win the champions league it was seriously handicapped by the foreigner rules at that time. Which meant even Mark Hughes, Brian McClair and later Giggs were seen as foreign.
I liked all those players to be honest!! I think the stick John Bailey took at the Dell was due to an incident when Saints played Blackburn. Maybe the dislike of Adrian Health was because his goal knocked us out of the FA Cup in '84!! As for Paul Davis I am clueless. I thought the guy was pure class and graceful in his game. Still it is an opinion and I have to respect yours!!!
I always thought Stan Collymore had the attributes to be a world great but he simply didn't want it. He wouldn't even move from his Midlands home when he was at Liverpool, instead choosing to commute 80 miles each way every day More interested in other "hobbies" too
Agreed Chief! We could start another thread and think about the standout teams of all time, stating the year to put it in context!!!
Would have still got more recognition on a global level had he come to us, as we'd of probably won the CL with him. Not knocking him though, as it's refreshing that a player would want to play for his home club, rather than join another for more money and success. There certainly aren't many of those around nowadays
