we'll have no hope of going up next year if the current owners arent shifted before the summer. if they're still here you can forget achieving anything. we'll need an entire summer just to clear out the dead wood, maybe two even as some may just stay to keep pocketing their over inflated salaries.
And the relative quality after each summer clear out gets worse every year. Summer 2015 - in - Ben Haim, Buyens and Gudmundson. Summer 2017 - in - 3 players off Hackney Marshes.
Guess it depends on the current proposals, or whether RD decides he's best selling a couple assets before moving on first.
My wild guess as to the summer transfer plan. 1. Further collapse in ST sales creates further black hole in finances. 2. Konsa sold. 3. Robinson given 5% of the transfer fee. Signs 4 semi pros as a result, claiming Man Utd and Arsenal were too 'jealous' to sell us their players.
Don't forget Katrien claimed season tickets and sales were a minor part of the revenue stream - good way of trying to mitigate the damage she personally has done with her outspoken rhetoric to the fanbase.
He deserves a chance at RB while Solly's injured. I suspect KR feels he has to keep the loanees happy.
Our defence is horrible. Byrne and chicksen need to move further up and Tex needs to leave. He brings goals but I'll go as far to say I haven't seen a defender be so far out of position as he was on Saturday, ever. No idea what he was doing/thinking.
My best bud is West Ham supporter, and watched quite a few of their European Qualification game (and others). There was a couple of players there that were very good, Page, Reece Oxford, and a couple of other youngsters. He'd never oust Creswell, and apart from those European games didn't get much game time. Think Page just needs to find his feet here, been super unlucky at the moment. Two injuries and a red card.
Slow to get back too. My favourite Charlton CB was Rufus, who always knew when to go up and when to get back. Made it look easy too.
Loved Rufus the player. Also loved Chris Perry too - not the tallest CB but positional play was incredible. And to think this board gave MM away for free..
I agree with most, I'd keep Chicksen for back up though, and controversially I'd sell Bauer. Over rated, I'd much rather Konsa and Pearce as our two CB's with Lennon and a new signing giving cover. Phillips should be given a run till the end of the season, I'll be pleased to see Rudd go at the end JFC is worth a chance with a pre-season under his belt, what we really need and lack is a box to box midfielder that can play alongside (like Cousins) I'd only keep Magennis as striker, get rid of the rest and that includes Ajose unless we start playing to his strengths (unlikely)
Tend to agree re Bauer. Not fussed if he stays, not bothered if he goes. I don't think he has any outstanding qualities, yet don't think he has many obvious faults. Scary to think he is one of the better pieces of business from the board.
