17:24 Queens Park Rangers chief executive Philip Beard won't be drawn on rumours of an interest in signing Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand on free transfers after the club won promotion back to the Premier League. There's been a lot of speculation but I can promise you that we won't be taking calls or holding discussions with any players at the moment. QPR get linked with everybody and they (Ferdinand and Lampard) are fantastic players but I'm sure Frank Lampard is worried about a certain tournament in Brazil!
Rio agents has said hes "seriously considering" signing for QPR. Thats about as close from the horses mouth as you can get.
I don't know if Rio is the right one for us, but we desperately need a CB who is comfortable on the ball and can pass.
I just think you lot should consider older more experienced players. Not everybody are Bosingwa. I believe that some of the guys mentioned are top professionals and that they would to their best to help the team.
Well I'm hoping he's using us to get a better deal elsewhere, I also hope that's why every over the hill player is linked to us.
FRANK LAMPARD is interested in a move to promoted QPR - but wants a two-year deal. By David Woods/Published 27th May 2014 Lampard is still hanging on for Chelsea to offer him a 12-month extension. But the option of Rangers, and teaming up with his uncle Harry Redknapp, is something he is willing to consider. It is understood Lampard would expect wages of around £60,000 a week at Loftus Road and would be made skipper. Redknapp is believed to see him playing in a deep-lying playmaker role, similar to Steven Gerrard at Liverpool. Chelsea appear to be in no rush to sign up Lampard with owner Roman Abramovich said to have mixed views about retaining a player who turns 36 next month. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/380761/EXCLUSIVE-Chelsea-s-Frank-Lampard-ready-to-reunite-with-Harry-Redknapp-at-QPR
you can add Jonas Olsson to the list Jonas Olsson back on Redknapp's transfer radar May 27, 2014 11:38 By Chris Lepkowski Jonas Olsson has emerged as a potential transfer target for newly-promoted Queens Park Rangers Jonas Olsson has emerged as a potential transfer target for newly-promoted Queens Park Rangers. The Albion centre-half moved to the capital some time ago and continues to commute to the West Midlands. Although he has stated a desire to remain at The Hawthorns, a big-money offer from the London club might appeal. QPR boss Harry Redknapp looked into signing Olsson when he was manager of Spurs. That particular pursuit ended when Redknapp lost his job at White Hart Lane. But the veteran manager remains fond of Olsson, who has two years left on his Albion contract, and is already looking to restructure his defence following their play-off win. Albion will also hold summer talks with George Thorne over his future, with Derby County willing to take the player back to the East Midlands. The 21-year-old made nine appearances for the Rams during a successful loan spell with Steve McClarenâs side. He was one of the best performers for the Rams during their unsuccessful Championship play-off final against QPR. Thorne is highly thought of at The Hawthorns â he recently signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal â but any decisions over his short-term future are not expected to be made until a new head coach is in place. Despite Thorneâs excellent progress, Albion have the likes of Claudio Yacob, Youssouf Mulumbu and James Morrison currently ahead of him. âIâd like to sort out the likes of (Andre) Wisdom, Thorne and (Patrick) Bamford,â said McClaren. âThorne was the best player on the field. Maybe we have a chance because I think theyâve enjoyed their time here.â The Baggies will step up their pursuit of a new boss this week. They are expected to hold talks with several candidates before whittling down their short-list to three. Chairman Jeremy Peace has, in recent times, been unwilling to pursue managers under contract elsewhere. But he made it clear recently he was not ruling out any options at this stage. One person unlikely to be considered is Paul Clement, despite his odds dropping on Sunday night. The Real Madrid No.2 has said he would consider a move into management. That has inevitably led him to be linked with Albion but there are no plans to pursue him at this stage. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jonas-olsson-potential-transfer-target-7175821
Steven Taylor or Olsson for me. Don't want Ferdinand at Rangers....too slow. Lampard?? Not too sure. cud be an expensive sub. Def do not want Cole - someone earlier sid he hs not had a good season in the last 3....reckon that's being generous.
Dumbest one for me so far... Thomas Vermaerlen from Arsenal... http://www.footballdirectnews.com/premier-league-news/50411-arsenal-skipper-targeted-by-redknapp.php
I really really hope Redknapp doesnt read this! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27579533 An out of contract 11 with 1000 caps between them.
The only thing that seems truthful is the first paragraph: "A source close to Loftus Road told FDN the newly-promoted London outfit are keen to add defensive reinforcements to their ranks before the 2014-15 campaign gets under way." No **** Sherlock!
It gets worse! http://www.footballdirectnews.com/p...92-man-united-reject-qpr-s-midfielder-bid.php Apparently, we've had a bid turned down for Tom Cleverly!!! Thank f**k for that....
