It will be bad because we have been relatively content for a day. Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean the bastards aren't out to get you!
I hear a sharp smack round the ear sorts it out. We don't need this and we aren't paid a lot of money to console us.
It could be a positive if it forces the board to wake up and start addressing the concerns of the players. Stability would appear to be long since out the window.
Aren't these people supposed to be professionals? It's pretty unprofessional using the media to air your grievances. Just a thought.
Unless they are out of contract, they can shut up, take a break using their large salaries, and turn up for preseason.
Not if they're truly concerned about what is happening with the club. For me, shrugging and letting the dysfunction continue while players depart would be more negligent than trying to force the board to wake up through the media.
So Saints players are over paid mercenaries just like all the rest then. It's like Rickie moving on to a bigger salary because he has children to think about. They're (his kids) already millionaires ffs.
Depends on how it's handled. I'm normally a strong proponent of the "Shut up and play" school of thought. But if it's truly a situation where a vast majority of the team feels the same way, and it's something easily fixable then why not? Things seemingly can't get much worse right now. But it has to be the right player. And it has to be stated in the right way. Just bitching about the board is not going to help. Neither are vague allusions to being "unhappy" or worries about "ambition" or pleas to the fans. State what's really bugging the team, and what can realistically be done to fix it. I'd say the odds of the above happening in a helpful way are about 25%. The odds of it damaging relations further are also 25%. Most likely outcome is they whine, the board ignores it, and hopefully the new manager can smooth things over by being an intermediary or else the new manager is awful in which case we are screwed.
