Blimey, that was last minute stuff. Best thing for him though.

A day of brave keepers and subs.

Magnus Norman came off in the 85th minute with a bad gash on his head but his side Rochdale held out for a 1-0 win over Coventry.

Marek Rodak was on fine form with a bag of saves, including a 'triple'. However, he couldn't keep out the one in the 73rd minute that meant Rotherham lost 1-0 away to Wigan. A stat which Rotherham probably don't want but nonetheless will be thankful for - Marek is way ahead in the Division's saves with 24.

Stevie Humphrys came off in the 73rd minute with the scores at 0-0. His team Scunthorpe battled on without him and went 1-1 away to Accrington Stanley.

Pride of place goes to Elijah Adebayo. He came on with 30 minutes to play and got his side's equaliser in the 94th minute as Swindon drew 1-1 with M K Dons. That's his second of the season.

    And today -

Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson was quick off the mark, making his debut in the 80th minute for Vendsyssel in their 1-1 draw away to Aarhus. Decent result since Aarhus are undefeated after 8 games in the Danish League.

Marcel Djalo played the whole game but Extremadura went down 2-0 away to Real Sporting.

Tayo Edun was an unused sub in the 1-1 draw at Portman Road against neighbours Norwich.

Elijah Adebyo scored his side's winner as 10 man Swindon beat Morecombe away 1-0. That's 3 goals an an assist (penalty won) foe Elijah.

    upload_2018-9-8_21-21-18.png

Bit of a thriller elswhere for Magnus Norman and Stevie Humphrys. Magnus conceded 3 at Scunthorpe but from 3-1 down Rochdale fought back to gain a point as the sides draw 3-3. Stevie came on for the final 15 minutes for The Irons.

Still no game time for Cauley Woodrow up at Barnsley who drew 1-1 with Walsall.

No goals for Elijah Adebayo last night. However, he was brought down for a penalty which proved to be Swindon's winner against Newport County in the Checkatrade Trophy.

[Keanu Marsh-Brown - remember him? - played for Newport.]

    A weekend of subs, mainly.

One exception was Marek Rodák. He had another clean sheet as Rotherham United secured an impressive 1-0 win against Derby County. What a confidence booster for the new boys to the Division

Marcelo Djalo also played the full 90 minutes for Extremadura in their 2-1 home defeat to high-flying Las Palmas

And it was a defeat as well for Elijah Adebayo's Swindon Town who had a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Bury

A win though for Stephen Humphrys who came on as a substitute in Scunthorpe United’s 3-2 win over AFC Wimbledon

Rui Fonte played his part in Lille’s 3-2 away win at Amiens. He was replaced in stoppage time by Loïc Remy after Nicolas Pépé’s quick fire hat-trick put Lille in control to move them into third place in Ligue 1

Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson was substituted in the second half as Vendsyssel FF were held to a 1-1 draw by Hobro

Tayo Edun was an unused substitute in Ipswich Town’s 2-0 defeat at Hull City

Magnus Norman sat out Rochdale's 3-0 win over Gillingham, presumably because of that head injury.

And finally, still no sign of Cauley Woodrow at Barnsley !!

Top spot this week goes to Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson who scored with a cracking free kick. The detail is in the caption with this clip -

Marek Rodak also had a stormer but was left disappointed when Rotherham allowed Stoke to pull back a two goal deficit. Still the 2-2 draw against Gary Rowett's just demoted side, underlines how newly promoted Rotherham are finding their feet in the Championship.

Swindon had the majority of the play and Elijah Adebayo was unlucky not to score early on when his shot shaved the outside of the post, but had to settle for 0-0 in a gruelling home game against Oldham.

Ipswich's run of 12 games without a win continued when they let a two goal lead slip in their 2-2 draw at Birmingham. Tayo Edun sat this one out on the bench.

    Magnus Norman
was also on the bench as his side, Rochdale, went down 3-1 at home to Pompey who now head League 1

Burton were denied a fourth straight home League 1 win as Scunthorpe extended their unbeaten start to six games with a 0-0 draw at the Pirelli Stadium. Stevie Humprys sat this one out on the Scunthorpe bench but old boy Cameron Burgess was at the heart of the Scunthorpe defence.

Still no sign of Cauley Woodrow at Barnsley.

    Meanwhile, overseas -

Marcelo Djalo and Extremadura picked up a point at home to Elche. Two late goals from Sory Kaba snatched away a deserved victory for the hosts.

Atli Andrason entered the action on 58 minutes in Viking’s eventful 3-2 defeat at home to Reykjavik. In a fixture that swung this way and that, it was the side from the capital that came away with all three points.

Rui Fonte missed out on Lille’s 3-0 win over Marseille through injury.

Magnus Norman was back in goal for Rochdale last night. However our keeper turned from hero to villain when he was dismissed in first-half stoppage-time after bringing down the Bristol Rovers' striker as he ran through on goal. The match ended Rochdale 0 Bristol Rovers 0.

Very different night for Stevie Humphrys in an 8 goal thriller -

No goals for Elijah Adebayo as Swindon went down 1-0 at Crewe.

Tayo Edun was again the bench as Ipswich's run without a win goes on as they lose 2-0 at home to Middlesbrough. The goals came in the first 15 minutes.

PS Our other goalie Marek Rodak goes tonight in the Championship against the other Bristol side. Hope he has a better night than Magnus.

    Tough weekend all round.

Stevie Humphrys did score again but his side, Scunthorpe, went down 3-2 to Luton.

Marek Rodak couldn't keep a clean sheet this time though and Rotherham went down 3-1 to Birmingham.

Nothing doing for Elijah Adebayo either, although Swindon did pick up a point in their 1-1 draw with Northhampton.

Magnus Norman of course was elswhere following his red card in his last match and Tayo Edun didn't even make the Ipswich squad for their (much welcomed and perhaps surpising) 3-2 win against Swansea at the Liberty Stadium. Rumours are that Cauley Woodrow's disappearing act at Barnsley is because of injury.

Overseas Marcel Dejalo's lot lost 1-0 to Numancia and, worse, Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson's side 3-0 to Midtjylland.

Bad day at the Office -

Scunthorpe went down 2-0 at home to Peterborough. Despite having the better of the play The Irons didn't really create any chances and Stevie Humphrys was subbed in the 81st minute.

Similar story for Swindon except it was 2-0 away to Exeter and our other striker out on loan, Elijah Adebayo, came off the bench in the 61st minute.

    Magnus Norman
is still serving time at Rochdale, who lost 3-2 in an entertaining game at home to Doncaster Rovers, and Cauley Woodrow is still sideline at Barnsley, who jumped to second in League 1 with a 3-2 win over Luton.

    Tayo Edun
    had a run out for Ipswich's U23s.

Mixed weekend but a couple of highlights:

Marek Rodak was the hero of Rotherham, saving a penalty in their 1-1 draw away to Bolton.

Stevie Humphrys scored Scunthorpe's second to put his side two up inside 7 minutes. However, the opposition Wycombe proved sterner stuff and pegged them back before getting the winner 4 minutes into injury time. And that despite being down to 10 men. So a 3-2 defeat for Stevie's lot.

Elijah Adebayo's Swindon battled out a 0-0 home draw with Mansfield.

And abroad Marcel Djalo's Extremadura really did have a battle with Mallorca - 12 booked and 2 sent off !! The actual match ended up 1-1.

Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson's Vendsyssel FF went down 1-0 at home to Horsens. That means his side have slipped to one from the bottom of the Danish Superliga.

Magnus Norman is still sitting out his suspension up at Rochdale and Tayo Edun just can't seem to get the Ipswich match day squad these days. Meanwhile in Barnsley, Cauley Woodrow ..... ???

Mostly Away Day Blues for the lads this midweek.

Not so Marek Rodak though, whose Rotherham went to table topping Middlesbrough and held them to a 0-0 draw. Fantastic result.

And a welcome return to the Ipswich starting line up for Tayo Edun, who played for an hour in their trip to Elland Road. Not so good the result however, as Leeds finished winning 2-0 and jump over 'Boro to lead the table. That made it only 1 win 15 for young Ipswich manager Paul Hurst and after a couple of months in the job, he was today regrettably fired. The tipsters have that old curmudgeon Paul Lambert lined up to replace him.

Stevie Humphrys and Scunthorpe went over to Blackpool but lost 1-0 to the seasiders.

Rochdale, still without the suspended Magnus Norman, crumpled 3-0 at Wycombe.

And in a home game it wasn't any better for struggling Swindon and Elijah Adebayo, who played for 80 minutes. They went down 2-0 to Cambridge.

With all the fallout of the last week, completely forgot about the lads on loan. Their weekend was a bit hit and miss.

Elijah Adebayo came off the bench on the hour with his Swindon side down 1-0 away to Notts County. Although not scoring he made an impact and Phil Brown's side came away 2-1 winners, to relieve the pressure following a poor run.

Rotherham were also 1-0 down away to Preston but Marek Rodak's side fought back and the game ended 1-1. That's the 5th game in 6 that The Millers have secured a draw.

Plymouth Argyle had their first away win of the season beating Scunthorpe comfortably 4-1. Stevie Humphrys was subbed at half time.

Neither Magnus Norman nor Tayo Edun made the match day squads as Rochdale beat Charlton and Ipswich lost to Millwall.

Overseas, Marcelo Djalo was out there for the whole game as his side Extremadura suffered a 2-1 home loss to Albacete. That drops them into the relegation zone. Better news for Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson though. He had a stormer in Vendsyssel’s crucial 1-0 away win against Aalborg.

PS At last Cawley Woodrow has surfaced and had his first full week of training with Barnsley since ... a long time anyway !

Most of the news is from overseas this weekend.

Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson opened the scoring for Vendsyssel in their home game against Sonderjyske. The visitors then hit three quick goals and his side regrettably, went down 3-2. Vendsyssel are in a poor run and this defeat leaves them two place from the bottom of the Danish Superliga.

And not much better for Marcelo Djalo as Extremadura lost yet again; 4-2 to Cordoba.

Rui Fonte was back in action after his injury. Lille travelled to the Parc dea Princes for their fixture against Paris Saint-German and brought Rui on in the 53rd minute and all the excitement - goal wise - came after that. Mbappe (70') and then Neymar (84') put PSG two ahead before Pepe got one back for Lille in injury time.

So a 2-1 loss but pretty exalted company for our man Rui.

Back home Marek Rodak's Rotherham are more than holding their own in the Championship and had a great 2-1 win over Swansea.

However, it was back in the doldrums for Elijah Adebayo's Swindon. They lost 1-0 at home to Colchester.

Our other lads sat the games out. Tayo Edun made the bench but neither Magnus Norman nor Stevie Humphrys made their respective squads - and nor did Cauley Woodrow.

FA Cup for most of the lads, one way or another, this weekend.

Top spot goes to Cauley Woodrow, who scored his first Barnsley goal

As the caption says it was Barnsley's first goal, in the 48th minute, and they went on to beat Notts County 4-0. Cauley was subbed just after the hour. His debut for them was in fact the previous weekend when he came on for the final half an hour in a 1-0 League win over Southend. In the next round of the Cup Barnsley are away to ... Southend (or Crawley).

Elijah Adebayo played the full game as Swindon overcame York 2-1. They've drawn Woking at home in the next round.

Stevie Humphrys was an unused sub as Scunthorpe went through with a 2-1 win over Burton. They're off to either Shrewsbury or Salford.

    Magnus Norman
also sat on the bench - he just can't back in the side after that sending off ! However, his team saw off Gateshead, in another 2-1 result, and have been drawn away to Portsmouth in the 2nd round.

    Back in the Championship:

Marek Rodak was his impeccable self, helping Rotherham to a point in a 1-1 draw against Blackburn at Ewood Park.

There were 3 goals in first 10 minutes between Reading and Ipswich before a late equaliser gave Reading in 2-2 draw, Tayo Edun was and unused sub.

    And overseas:

Rui Fonte continued his comeback from injury, playing for 78 minutes as Lille were held to a 1-1 draw by Strasburg.

Not going at all well for Marcelo Djalo though. His side Extremadura were 2-0 up against Osasuna. The visitors pulled it back to 2-2, went down to 10 men and still managed to score a stoppage time winner. So a 3-2 loss and not looking good.

And it's looking equally gloomy for Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson as his side Vendsyssel lost 1-0 to Hobro in a "6 pointer" match.

Not a grand weekend for the lads. Except for Cauley Woodrow, that is. He scored for the first Barnsley. in their 2- 0 win away to Accrington Stanley. It was a toe poke from close range in the 36th minute but they all count and that of course makes it 2 in 2 for Cauley. He was subbed in the 67th minute and shortly after Barnsley had Fryers sent off. The 10 men went on to get a second goal late in injury time however and move up to 3rd in the table.

Dismal day for Swindon's new boss Richie Wellens in his first League game since replacing Phil Brown. They went down 4-0 at home to Carlisle. And frustrating for Elijah Adebayo who saw little of the ball and was subbed in the 69th minute.

Equally frustrating for Stevie Humphrys who didn't make the Scunthorpe match day squad. The Irons did have a welcome 2-1 away to fellow strugglers Bristol Rovers though.

Magnus Norman would be pleased to be back in goal for Rochdale but not with the result - they lost 3-2 away to Shrewsbury.

Better weekend for the lads who played.

Top spot goes to Marek Rodak and Rotherham who held the high flying Sheffield United to 2-2 in the Championship.

A close second goes to Cauley Woodrow who scored 2 minutes after coming off the bench in the 60th. That's 3 in 3 for him. Barnsley however lost their 5 game winning streak being held 1-1 at home to Doncaster.

Another one on the score sheet was Elijah Adebayo. He scored after quarter of an hour to end his baron run as Swindon Town secured a precious 1-0 win over Port Vale. The win was a sigh of relief for the Robins after only managing one win in nine games before Saturday.

Stevie Humphrys came off the bench with 15 minutes left to play. His side Scunthorpe still went down 2-1 to Portsmouth.

Tayo Edun didn't make the match day squad as Ipswich went down 2-1 to West Brom. Nor did Magnus Norman as Rochdale defeated Accrington Stanley 1-0.

    And overseas:

Jón Dagur Thorsteinsson secured a valuable point for Vendsyssel from the penalty spot to ensure the spoils were shared against Esbjerg. The winger scored 20 minutes from time before his goal was pegged back.

Rui Fonte started in Lille’s 2-0 defeat to Nice but was subbed after 70 minues.

Marcelo Djalo was left out of the Extremadura squad in their impressive 1-0 win over Malaga.

A few of the lads were out last night and some not.

Only an injury time equaliser stopped Rotherham taking all 3 points against QPR. It ended 2-2. Marek Rodak had an absolute stormer, as manager Paul Warne explained "Our keeper kept us in it".

please log in to view this image

No goal this time out for Cauley Woodrow as Barnsley went down 4-2 to second placed Sunderland in a rain soaked Stadium of Light. Cauley was subbed in the 85th minute.

    Elijah Adebayo
didn't make the Swindon match day squad. His replacement, their 18 year old Academy player Sol Pryce on his debut, scored twice in a 3-2 win over Stevenage.

Stevie Humphrys sat on the bench as Scunthorpe went down 2-0 away to struggling Southend.

Magnus Norman also watched from the bench as his team, Rochdale, lost 4-2 to Oxford at the Kassam Stadium.

A shock for Swindon last night as they stumbled out of the FA Cup to non-League side Woking. Apparently Swindon played a 'weakened' side which annoyed the visitors whose second half goal saw them go through 1-0. Elijah Adebayo came off the bench on the hour.

Back in the Championship Rotherham went one up against Norwich at Carrow Road. However, the high flying League leaders pulled the game round and went n to win 3-1. Marek Rodak did his usual heroics in goal.
