I know he signed a new one last season amid the Man City rumours, I think it may be 2014 but don't quote me on that!
If Cottager's right with 2015, I don't think we need to worry about a loan-with-an-option deal to a Turkish side.
Dan Burn Dan has extended his loan spell at Yeovil until 7th January 2013 http://www.ytfc.net//news/article/burn-extends-495487.aspx?pageView=full
As the Club report says none of our lads on loan came away with wins this weekend, although both our keepers seem to have done well - especially Neil Etheridge (again). Here is the full round up - http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/november/19/loan-round-up
Dan Burn Dan had a great game tonight as Yeovil beat much fancied Crawley 1-0 away fom home. The winner was an o.g. in the last minute and in Dan's words, " I've never celebrated and own goal like that before!". Now that's attitude and commitment.
Good job we're not down there any more - I'm sure the headline writers would be making something of our away record on a night like that. What was I thinking? Headline writers and League One? As if! Note to any lower division fans who stumble across this: I'm complaining about the lack of media attention you get, not mocking it. Just saying. Note to my fellow Fulham fans: I know our away record is better than it was and that we moan when people harp on about it. It's just a joke. Note to self: stop explaining yourself. No one cares.
A couple of our other lads were playing last night as well. Lauri Dalla Valle helped Crewe Alexandria get a 3-3 draw away to Sheffield United with an assist in the second half. And, despite being on the wrong end of a 4-0 drubbing, Neil Etheridge had a fine game for Bristol Rovers against Port Vale. It might sound weird to say a goalie had a good came when you lose four goals but by all accounts if it hadn't been for Neil the scoreline would have been an awful lot worse. Rovers really are in trouble and as one of their fans put it, "Mind that Gap". Other news is that Richard Peniket has been recalled from his loan to Kidderminster. I assume this is because the U21s are short of forwards - Cauley Woodrow was drafted in from the U18 side for last Monday's game against Borough. Interestingly we only had three subs for that game, including goalkeeper Bettinelli. Also, I would guess it's because there are no over age players that Jol wants/needs to have a run out in what he persists in calling the "reserves".
Neil Etheridge Neil will after all play for the Phillipines in the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup. The Azkals (as the national team are known) are already in Bangkok where they play their first game on 24th November against Thailand. They got to the semi-finals the last time this cup was played (2010) but it should be tough going this time since they're drawn in the "Group of Death" along with Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. I suspect because of this there has been pressure on Neil, who is their first choice keeper and on 38 caps, to take part.
Neil Etheridge Part 2 The Club have just announced that Neil has been recalled from his loan to Bristol Rovers. No reason is given but since he's off to play for the Philippines (see post above) for 2 weeks, by the time he got back his loan period would be up. And presumably either he and/or the Club are not keen to see the loan extended. http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/november/21/etheridge-recalled
David Stockdale Distinct possibility that David will go on loan to Hull. Not sure about timing since, although Neil Etheridge has been recalled from Bristol Rovers. he's off with the Philippine side for two weeks and that would leave Somogyi as cover. Frankly don't think he is good enough. However because the loan deadline is tomorrow, the Stockdale move may well go through and we'll just have to cross our fingers that Schwarzer survives.
Not many have Bidley. Apart from being Jol's first signing his only claim to fame is modelling the goalie's kit in "Fulham Direct". At the time he said, I'm probably being a bit harsh but I have seen him play a couple of times for the U21s (possibly the only times he played ?). I remember rosc not being too complimentary either.
Stockdale has probably had a word with Jol about spending too much time on the bench, so action has been taken. This will be the fifth club that Stockdale has gone to on loan while with us? He's out the door for me. A great shame, but I wouldn't expect a player of his quality to be content with being numero dos.
Stockdale's loan spell to Hull is confirmed, until Jan 2nd. http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/november/22/stockos-loan-deal Trotta's gone to Brentford until Jan 13th too. http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/november/22/trotta-loan
Pity Trotta didn't go on loan earlier and longer; to give himself a chance to feel and work as part of 'the team'. Brentford is a good choice for him though - they're sitting 7th - and he could potentially play 11 games. Hopefully he'll go in with his eyes open and gain from the experience. please log in to view this image
Alex Smith Alex has also gone on loan - to Leyton Orient, until January. In his in-house interview today Jol spoke highly about the youngster and how he very nearly brought him on against Sunderland. I'm sure if things hadn't gone the way they did, the intention was to bring him on for Kara after an hour. However the move will give him him some decent competitive game time and I'm sure we'll see him in the first team in the New Year. http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/november/22/smith-heads-for-orient
Saturday 24th November Mixed day for our lads : Marcello Trotta did well in his debut as Brentford beat Sheffield United 2-0 http://www.hounslowchronicle.co.uk/west-london-sport/allsport/2012/11/24/109642-32301438/ Lauri Dalla Valle was the two goal hero as Crewe Alex defeated Crawley Town 2-0 (That’s two defeats on the trot for Crawley at the hands of our lads - Dan Burns’ Yeovil beating them mid-week) http://www.crawleyobserver.co.uk/sport/football/crewe-alexandra-2-0-crawley-town-1-4522295 Dan’s Yeovil unfortunately went down 3-1 at home to Carlisle http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20374764 David Stockdale had a decent game for his new club, Hull, but it wasn’t enough to stop them going down 1-0 at home to Burnley http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20374715 Marcus Bettinelli’s Dartford beat Kingstonian 4-0 away from home in the FA Trophy (first round) Alex Smith was an unused sub as Leyton Orient beat Preston 2-0 There was no game for Matthew Briggs in Bristol City’s excellent 3-1 win away to Middlesborough Jesse Jorenen’s Maidenhead are away to Boreham Wood in the Blue Square Conference on Monday night.
I know David Stockdale is bound to say nice things about his native Yorkshire and similarly about his temporary club, Hull. However, his loan ends just as the new transfer window opens and there are signs that he (if not the Club) is ready to move on. In an interview at the weekend he said, Here is the full article - http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/football/other-clubs/hull-city-0-burnley-1-stockdale-determined-to-grab-new-opportunity-with-the-tigers-1-5167358
