They failed to pay him his wages "for a number of months" according to the News.

He is training with us and although he is now a free agent talks are still ongoing with his former club Elazigspor re training and development compensation to which they are entitled under FIFA rules.

Ashley Harris & Nick Awford are back less than a week after they went on loan to Chelmsford.

They were beaten 6-0 at the weekend (Harris came on as a sub and Awford stayed on the bench). Dean Holdsworth got the sack and (according to The News) the new manager has decided he wants to focus on permament players.

Chelmsford were beaten again last night and neither Harris or Awford were on the bench which would seem to confirm it.

However, Josh Warren (who's been on loan there for a couple of months and has done well) played last night. So who knows...

Poor Ashley Harris can't seem to catch a break at the moment.

PORTSMOUTH manager Guy Whittingham has revealed that John Marquis' loan spell at the club is set to be cut short prematurely.

Marquis was left out of the squad for Pompey's 3-2 victory over Exeter on Saturday and was seen leaving Fratton Park before the game with his belongings.

The 21-year-old has scored two goals in six appearances for the League Two side and only recently extended his stint on the south coast by a further month.

But it now seems the striker is heading back to The Den.

He probably would have done if Guy hadn't replaced him with Ryan Bird in the 76th minute.......

Guy Whittingham has confirmed Pompey are tracking non-league defender Will Spetch.

The versatile 22-year-old has been earning rave reviews for Poole Town in the Southern League, and the Blues boss has shown he is prepared to take a punt after Ryan Bird and Jed Wallace made the step-up from the semi-professional ranks.

Whittingham said: ‘We keep our ears to the ground and we’ve all got contacts around the area for non-league players, and especially if you’ve been told by people you trust.

Still no news regarding Jake Jervis signing for us, BUT we have signed on a months loan from Wet Spam, 19 year old left back Dan Potts (son of former Hammers player Steve)

One problem position temporarily solved hopefully.

One of the things the club lost over the last couple of years, apparently, was the scouting network.

It seems that quite a few of the current squad were recommended by Steve Allen.

I wonder if that is being sorted out by Guy as well now?

Does this mean that Phil Smith has actually moved on now?

We've got 2 goalies, Sullivan is on a longer contract that Smith and Carson is due to join on a contract in January. With Dave Coles back there is no need for Smith to coach Carson and Sullivan, although he could learn a lot from Dave Coles' experience.

Dartford is a part-time Conference club so Smith should still be training with us. It's a bit puzzling to be honest.

At least he has the opportunity to be coached by the coach to the former England No.1 :emoticon-0100-smile

I trust Coles will be able to work out if he is any good as a goalie.

Didn't Jamo say he was the best coach he had ever worked with?

Coles was doing a lot of work with Sullivan in pre match today and he looked a different figure! Carson has been making some great saves but also some real howlers and has lost his touch a bit........I would say that Smith is finding it hard to stay fit on the bench so getting games is good for him, Coles is a top coach admired by many and both Jamo and Bego both rate him.

I am thinking that Coles will be running the line over both Carson and Sullivan, but give n the right coaching sullivan will make a great keeper.

Problem is that he is unlikely to stay with us very long.......... another club is going to come in for him I reckon, and he is only on an open-ended contract so can leave at any time.

As bp said Dave Coles was working both Carson & Sullivan hard before kick off.

A vast improvement on the weak efforts of both Knightsie and Phil Smith who both looked out of their depth in that department.

Dave Coles is indeed pure class as a coach, so will be difficult to keep at FP on probably meagre wages, with a higher division club possibly on the look out for a decent goalkeeping coach. We are merely a "stepping stone" in his career - good luck to him I say.

Not really Pie - why do you ask ? Do you reckon Saints could do with him to prevent your first choice keeper Borat, from repeating his 'Strictly Come Dancing" routine that he was trying to perfect at The Emirates ?
