If we got a £19m offer for a Lambert nearing 31 it would take serious consideration at the very least.
Forecast must be worth a few bob. Yup, 5-6 shillings would be about right. (ask your Granddad) More seriously, Nicola would not sell any current Saints player for less than a large multiple of what we paid for them. This just shows what a shrewd business head he has, and how good Nigel is at picking the right targets.
What I think they are worth, not what they'd sell for. Lambert - £6m Lallana - £8m Sharp - £2m Rodriguez - £4m Schneiderlin - £3m Cork - £2.5m Fox - £2m
Kelvin - £4m Richardson £3.5m Fonte £4m Jos £4.5m Fox £4m Guly £5m Cork £4.5m Morgan £5.5m S Davis £4m Adam £6m J Rod £6m Sharp £4m T Lee £4.5 Many likely to increase in value as season unfolds.
Not at all! I think the climate reflects what people are willing sell them for with respect to what they're worth to the team, ie we'd probably only sell Lambert for something obscene like £20m, but that doesn't mean he is worth £20m. In the same way if we look at the fees we paid for these players (as reported) Sharp £1.25m, Cork £750k, Fox £1.8m; I think some of them have gone up in value since our promotion.
On market value, IMO: Davis - £850k Richardson - £1m Fonte - £2m Hooiveld - £2.5m Fox - £2m Guly - £750k Morgan - £5.5m Cork - £4.5m Lallana - £6.5m Lambert - £5m Rodriguez - £7m Sharp - £2.5m We'd be bonkers to sell any of those for those fees as they're worth a lot more to us, but until they prove otherwise, that's roughly what they're worth on the market imo.
