Krul - 8 - Made some great saves, and catches
Simmo - 7 - played well but stood off for the goal, good going forward
Willo - 7 - Solid, good heading, didnt lack pace
collo - 8 - Just Collo, Solid as usual
Santon - 7 - Did nothing wrong, good attacking play
Raylor - 6 - Didnt see much off him
Pearch - 7 - Tiote esc in the middle, didnt but a foot wrong
Guthrie - 8 (MOM) - Cabaye would have been proud, will give him a run for his money when he comes back, ran the game
Jonas - 7 - made some good attacking run, got the assist and defended well
Ba - 7 - looked tired but got his goal and linked up the play
Best - 6 - didnt have time to do much

Cisse - 8 - great play, turned players, used his pace, wasnt always offside and a cracking goal
Obertan - 6 - was better than usual, used his pace better but that first shot was a disgrace
Shola - 6 - came on and did what he had to do

Ref - 7 - didnt do too much wrong and got most calls right
 
Cisse and Ba looked tired to me. Cisse gave the ball away a lot and missed a good headed chance. Guthrie was outstanding and Collo has to take blame for the first goal along wid Simmo

He gets too much flack for that I think, players need to stop being lazy and expect the ball to come to them. The past 2-3 games I have seen Krul kick to a very similar position each time, but no players seem to be engaging the use of their brains, to anticipate the kick.
 
Bit harsh on Obertan, he got better as the game went on. Still lacks confidence when taking a man on but you could see he was trying hard today
 
Tim Krul - 9 Had an amazing game. Made two vital saves in the first half.
Danny Simpson - 6 Nothing special, covered his ground though and got forward well at times.
Mike Willamson - 7 Did really well today. His speed is still his weekness though at getting back. Brilliant one on one stop at a point.
Fabricio Coloccini - 8 Brilliant game as usual.
Davide Santon - 7 Did great going forward, quick on his feet this lad! But made a few mistakes.
James Perch - 8 Brilliant game in the midfield, hardly put a foot wrong. Very impressed.
Danny Guthrie - 8.5 Filled in Cabaye's shoes and did really well passing the ball around to keep the attack flowing.
Jonas Gutierrez - 6.5 had a decent game but didn't produce much. Did well for Cissé's goal much not too much else.
Gabriel Obertan - 7 Same thing for Obertan really but he did a lot more in going forward and trying to get some crosses into the box.
Papiss Cisse - 8.5 Welcome to Newcastle ;)
Demba Ba - 8 Great as usual but looked a tad tired

Overall, top performance, defended well and didn't look too shabby going froward ;)
Heard Raylor's injury is just a bruise, not sure about Bets though. Wishing them well HWTL!!!
 
How can you rate Obertan better than Jonas. I thought Jonas was our best player along with Colo, Guthrie and Krul.
Jonas worked so hard defensively, rarely lost the ball and got an assist. Back to his best today.
 
Krul - 8 - Made so very important, brilliant saves in the first half

Simpson - 6 - Did OK, not great mind
Williamson - 5 - Don't understand all of the 7's? Colo covered for him so many times, and Bent won headers off him. Also - hooooof!! Then Villa won possession again
Coloccini - 8 - Had to cover for all of our defenders today - was outstanding again
Santon - 5 - Got caught out too many times for me. Good going forward though

Raylor - 6 - Did good before he went off
Perch - 7 - Went about his job in a good, solid way. Beginning to like the lad
Guthrie - 8 - Very good performance - having a good time atm
Jonas - 8 - Very, very good. Covered for Santon on a number of occasions and did great going forward

Ba - 7 - Good goal, looked tired, but definetly deserved the 7
Best - 6 - Went off early

SUBS
Cisse - 7 - Amazing goal, some good bits of play
Obertan - 7 - Did well when introduced - seems to thrive when criticized
Ameobi - 5 - Came on for a few minutes and gave it away every time he got it
