I think you could say the same for all of our CB. Even Bruce or Bromby would be good alongside a dominant CB partner. We lack a leader at the back. Even Kisnorbo now looks unsure of himself.
i still think kisnorbo is worth having, he will come back to where he was, its just after such an injury it can take time
Normally, Kisnorbo would have been that dominant partner, but he's clearly lost major pace and confidence so we need Paddy/Sodje/Naylor V2 to be brought in. Hopefully someone who's under 30 and doesn't have dodgy limbs too. Then again, that might require money!
I doubt Kisnorbo will ever be back to the way he was. This isn't his first major injury, he was out for 6 months when at Leicester and then they released him. He's 30, has been out for nearly a year, was always fairly injury prone anyway - he has only play 37 league games for us. He could still be great at League One, but this is a level too high for him. You could pick up some good defenders on frees in League One - no nonsense players like Naylor and Kisnorbo, but to get a good one in the Championship, you have to spend money. Lees has potential but needs to be helped by having a tall, commanding player next to him - which neither O'Dea, Bromby, Bruce or Kisnorbo can provide. That's the reason why we won't be one of the challengers for automatic promotion or a frontrunner for the playoffs.
I disagree Best Fans, I think a longer run in the team we can get a partnership going to try to shore up the defence. I doubt it will ver be perfect but that isnt our strength and it doesnt need to be. We score goals, we just need to limit conceding.
