I've said this before, but I could never understand why you bought Benteke. Neither Rodgers nor Klopp operate a system suited to his strengths. Square peg in a round hole...
Neither do we tbh, hopefully Klopp will shift him on in the summer and get someone more suited to the way we play in
Villa concur there isn't anyone worthy... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/04/13/aston-villa-scrap-end-of-season-awards-party/
The official list is out http://www.skysports.com/football/n...rio-named-on-pfa-player-of-the-year-shortlist
Apart from Alli who is on the young player list and Kante who I missed off, the others are all on Piskie's ITK list. You're welcome
Problem with POTY and YPOTY is people have very short memories, YPOTY first. Alli has only been good for the 2nd half of the season, Kane also took his time to get going. Barkley and Lukaku have dropped off the pace in the 2nd half. Coutinho injured for a large part and always takes time to recover. Butland wins as he's the only consistant performer. POTY, easy enough pick between Vardy, Mahrez and Kante. Vardy easy for me again for being consistant.
Kante has been the player of the year. No one even comes close. Alderweireld comes second. How he's not on the list is a disgrace. Everyone else battles for third. These 2 for me stand out above the rest.
Alli's been very good for the whole season and Kane was playing well when he wasn't scoring. Alderweireld's been consistently top-notch every week though, so he should be in there and Dier should be on the YPOTY list.
Yeah I agree there, not on Alli though he's got better in the 2nd half of the season but didn't stand out early doors.
You can't dismiss Vardy like that he's been amazing right from the start, yes Kante has been good and I agree on Toby but Vardy by a country mile.
Alli settled in very, very quickly and played very well as soon as he was introduced. It probably wasn't as noticeable to fans of other clubs though, as he was playing a deeper role in the midfield.
For me, I can't even decide who should be higher between Vardy and Mahrez. Yes Vardy has scored the goals but Mahrez has been taking piss against everyone.
That's probably part of the reason for the attack-minded nominations. Solid, consistent defenders don't really make great highlights, so you just get forwards and attacking midfielders.
Mahrez has the odd bad game though and gets subbed now and then when he's not on song. I'm a fan of Kante but I don't think he tops Vardy.
