He's had a great season, he was terrible in the Premier League, but he looks completely at home in the Championship.

As long as we don't get promoted, he'll be laughing.

As I've just said in the other thread, I think he's really beginning to hit his peak/fulfill his potential (Man Utd signed him afterall).

He's certainly not the same player we signed. Though as you know, I don't think he was as bad as people make out.

TWF, slightly off topic, and you may or may not recall this but didn't McShane say or write somewhere that he'd not even got a look in under Bruce at Sunderland? If so, a remarkable turn around in their relationship. McShane has looked a different player this year, and indeed the other week Bruce sounded genuinely concerned about his absence from the team with injury! He's been excellent.

I don't know, I don't think their careers at Sunderland overlapped that much did they?

McShane was more or less sold by Bruce straight away, I don't know if that's because we had a deal in place or Bruce just really didn't fancy him.

I know he said he never got a look in under Pearson, even had it out with at one point.

Elmo by a distance - we couldn't play 3-5-2 without him (as January proved)

When Bruce came in at Sunderland, he had a full pre-season and decided to never include McShane in a matchday squad and he loaned/sold him to us early in the season.

His recent comments suggest he's rather more impressed with him now, which is no surprise based on this seasons performance, but if we go up, he'll be out of hs depth again.

He'd be a good addition to any Championship team, but a poor addition to any Premier League club.

    1) Elmo
    2) Chester
    3) Quinn

Brady, Meyler, Aluko all close and obviously a full season with Gedo/Boyd could see a different result

Strange how almost all of us are picking Elmo, yet he's way down the ratings for MOTM awards <confused>

Elmo is brilliantly consistent and barely puts a foot wrong, but doesn't often do flashy things like score screamers or pull out tricks. He is just overlooked in the post match excitement so doesn't get votes. He is by far our most important player IMO
