I voted Clint before, he's been enormous, great heart, organiser, concentrator. But seeing as you ask again! I'm Fickle, as your list Oddball, so now I'm going Adel, he is the most brilliant football player in our team.
Mackie for me. He has had to drag himself through the season, recovering from the leg injury. He has inspired the team with his never say die attitude and has got a couple of crucial goals; with the Liverpool one being the springboard to our defining home run. Clints was a bit of a late start for me.
Truth is whilst various players have played significant roles at times in getting us this far, Hill and Mackie's contributions have been the most outstanding over a sustained period. Without their drive, passion, energy and commitment we'd be down already - and Shaun Derry hasn't been that far behind them. If we had three votes, they'd each get a vote from me. However, since it's just the one vote each, it has to be Clint Hill for me. Clubs in our position in the prem invariably have their work cut out dealing with veritable torrents of incoming. Central box is the hive of activity in every game. Not only has Clint successfully made the switch to left CB, he's also made the position his own - and in so doing has governed an increasingly solid back four that has finally scored a couple of clean sheets at long last! Warnock was right about honest and diligent Clint. Top man in every sense.
Has to be Mackie for me. Certainly not a special player but always trying something, never giving up and scoring sometimes. Helguson is capable but did not play enough games to be considered, AT certainly the most gifted player but just a little boy unfortunately. Hill comes second (in my opinion) - very much like Mackie.
I have pondered and the list is gone I fully expect that tonight if we go down then they will show themselves
NW also in my book for putting him out on loan ... In Time I am sure NW will be remembered as the man that built a great model then smashed it up with a hammer ... He knows that and for that he was very foolish
Looks like Hill's got our vote then... unless there are any Mackie-supporting stragglers still to come. After that goal of his yesterday, wouldn't be surprised!
