Super Kelv for me,with Jos a close second and Lallana third. But apart from the odd game here and there, all of them have performed above what most of us expected this season, including everyones favourite whipping boys,Guly and Harding.
Hooiveld has been class and consistent all season, think he has been a unit, wins everything in the air and very good with his positioning. And as someone has said, shipped the secound least goals in the championship, which I wasn't truly aware of. Scored some truly vital goals at the other end and then to top it off, a top notch bloke, the way he applauds the fans as the end of the game, has time for us, and I indeed have a lot of time for him. Man of the season, aside Lambert. Lallana has been good but not at his best and to inconsistent.
Lallana has sadly been carrying knocks too often to be my choice. Fully fit, he would be every single time. Spiderman does all the dirty jobs and he is vital to our team, I've always said it. Not to mention he links with lallana beautifully and sets off counter attacks. If only he had the confidence to shoot, cause I know he's got a good long range ability.
People are blinded by goals and strikers always win the awards!!! Without those providing the rest of the team's play from front to back then Lambert wouldn't get those goals. However Lambert does show his worth and I would say he was player of the season closely run by Hooiveld and Guly
All the team deserve considerations, but my decision was based on a simple thing. If I heard he was injured, who would induce the most hysteria, teeth gnashing and despair...SKD.
I hope you don't mind me pointing out to you that you have missed the l out of Guly so have edited in for you in the quote.
It's a toss-up between Kelvin and Jos. Never seen either of them have a below-game. Kevin's performance against Leeds was possibly the best I have seen from a Saints keeper since the days of Shilton. But in the end I voted for Jos. Adkins best signing. Was worried at first as some Celtic fans thought he was crap. But him and Jose at the centre of defence have been the rock on which this almost certain promotion has been built.
biggest suprise - Jos Dependable -SKD Good luck charm -Chappers consistent - spiderman most improved -cork exciting -lallana player for the future - Martin
The whole team has impressed me, but Jos stands head and shoulders above all the others. Considering he was seen as a bit of a panic buy and we didn't really know what we were getting, he integrated with the team so well and so quickly and has been an absolute rock in almost every game (two mistakes against blackpool recently, is that the only bad game he's had??)
