For me he was easily the best player until he got injured. Really justified being players ahead of Drury. He was constantly the best player on the pitch in my opinion.
has to be holt, not just for his goals but for literally everything he has done this season. he is the talisman, the leader, the inspiration behind this brilliant squad of players. without him we'd be a totally different proposition. its irrelevant that he's won it twice before - they were different seasons - and based solely upon this, he's been our best and most importnat player. ruddy a very, very close second though
Perhaps Ruddy & Holt could share it for 6 months each , I would not disagree they both probably deserve it but we can only pick one.
Holt just. I am surprised though looking at the results that only three players have been chosen and two of them take over the 90%. It is more clear cut than I thought but one thign to consider is that Ruddy has played virtually the whole time whereas others have been an hour a game.
agree, but i don't think you can underestimate the impact holt has on this team. ruddy has had a wonderful season but holt is the most importnat player we have and he's lived up to expectations. could well go to either - indeed i think ruddy will get it - i just feel that holt should just edge it
It is a very difficult decision to make and people have to vote for one of them if it is between them two. It is very close though as both Ruddy and Holt have both received a similar number of votes.
Don't man of the match awards contribute to the votes for player of the season? Not quite sure about the distribution of the man of the match awards throughout the season but Ruddy and Holt would have got a few.
It simply has to be Holt, no question. Ruddy has been brilliant all season, absolutely superb and should definitely be second in the voting but for me Holty has to take it hands down for the reasons Supers expanded upon further up this thread. Fifteen goals against two clean sheets, no comparison if you ask me. I also feel it's a bit negative giving your goalie the award and possibly makes us look a bit weak and that we have had to rely on our keeper all season as our outfield players aren't good enough - which clearly isn't the case with us.
Don't be daft!!!!!!! Shaun from "Canary call thingy" said Ruddy was Ruddy awful!! Oh I love that program, it's soooooooooo ****ing funny! <pissedinpantslaughing> ILD OTBC
......and did you see the 'husband and husband' ballroom dancers Dave ? Jeees, never thought I'd see the day <shakesheadindisbeliefemotcon>
Not being funny chaps, but in my opinion if you choose to tune your tv into that or any of the other complete **** and bilge that Simon Cowell produces then I'm afraid you deserve everything you get
I should have just left it as a three way poll between Ruddy, R Martin and Holt. Or I should have omitted Holt and Ruddy from the poll!
It is irrelevant he has won it twice to a point, what I meant was that as it is so close people may be inclined to lean towards voting for ruddy as Holt had already won it twice...
It's entirely irrelevant. I hope people vote purely on the basis of the player they think has done the most for our cause this season, if they believe that to be John Ruddy then that's completely understandable and he deserves their vote. But I personally think it would be a bit rubbish if people think Holt has been the best but don't vote for him simply to give someone else a chance. I'll be honest about 6-8 weeks ago Ruddy might not have even been in my top three, he's hardly put a foot wrong (literally) since then however and definitely deserves to get a big share of the voting. Just not as big as Super Grant Holt if you ask me
