Ash Williams is a good player that we dont want to see go but its inevitable he will be a liverpool player next season if reports are correct down here.......as for joe Allen then as you paid all that money for him and he has only been at liverpool for one season then i think he should get another chance...by the way it was not Brendan who wanted young joe it was king Kenny who made the deal. Brendan was still our manager at the time of negotiations between both clubs...

  2. Fair shout on Carroll and Spearing already being out of the squad, I'd overlook that <ok>

I understand what you are saying about the youngsters, I think it is down to the league standard and the club expectations. We need immediate results and can't afford to give these youngsters a long run in the side waiting for them to adjust and get up to speed. We used to do it though, we produce the likes of Fowler, McManaman, Owen, Carragher and Gerrard <ok>

good luck to owen on his retirement at the end of the season, One of the best strikers in his prime imo... Do anybody know if he is totally giving up working in football or has he got his badges to go as a coach somewhere, I know he will pop up as a pundit now and again but with his experience then he has a hell of a lot to offer to up and coming players....

Thats what halts the pregression of youth IMO, the need of immediate results but it is what it is, which is why we need to change the ways of that final push of development, far too often we give a youngster their first break and i feel the club in some cases believe thats that, the youth set up has done its job, but in reality they still need developing so much more ... Yeah we did use to do it but the players you mentioned were special talents, and i'm sure Kelly and Sterling will follow suit, the problem with Suso is the competition for his position is to high at the moment for his age which is why a solution would be to send him on a 2 year loan to a club with the same philosophy as ours. He would come back a far better player than if he stays here for 2 years...

He mentioned he wanted to get a contract as a sports broadcaster or something similar. I bear him no ill will, and wish him luck in his future. He served us well while he was here, that's what I'll remember.
