So you think someone who misses out on a job automatically becomes racist? That's an assumption that you can only make in your head, and which was no way implied in my post.

Don't know how much time you spend in the US, but I am there probably 6/7 weeks this year. I meet intelligent, well read, kind people all the time, as I do in every other country I work in. The ratio of decent people to twats is just about the same everywhere, and the UK is no better than anywhere else.

Its not becoming racist, its refusing to give a job to a black person because they will automatically assume they are an inferior candidate because they have to be part of a quota.

The job should go to the best person, end of.

To put it in football terms, whites are under represented in football so we should make sure that 10 out of the 11 players have to be white and exclude better black players, is that fair?

Good point. I tried to draw out a Spurs poster who called himself "Yid Vicious" but all I got was a one month ban for my troubles!

The whole society has gone crazy. We have police wasting precious resources investigating whether a referee insulted a Chelsea player or not while murderers, drug dealers, rapists and pimps are at large and threatening to pull the Country asunder.

    Like I said, Crazy.

Intresting posts here...would love to hear the views from someone that admits to being racist.

I know we'd probably all crucify him, but it would be good to try and understand his/her midset...no matter how warped we may think it is.

unfortunaely we dont appear to have anyone (except col maybe...kidding) on this site with that stance....May have to visit the Chelsea board in disguise then !

There's definitely a couple of bigots on here Queens, whatever about racists. They seem to fly under the radar a lot because they are subtle with their prejudices. But I see disgraceful comments popping up regularly, one as recent as an hour or so ago.

BTW, I don't think COL is a racist. He's just very nationalistic that's all.

Wooow steady up here. Col and Queens...neither of you should be slagging either of the other off...for obvious reasons!!!!!

Back to thread...Positive discrimination...is such a no no. I sit on a committee that gives positive discrimination to women in science......because in my branch of science we represent 10% of the total workforce...and someone has spotted it! We have positive quotas to reach. And yes women are being discriminated against...I am constantly fighting this keeping up the quota mentality, from the inside because I do NOT believe in positive discrimination...we must always give the job to the best candidate (would you like to be operated on by a second/third best doctor, simply because she is a woman...I do not want to be).

Take it to its obvious logical conclusion.
QPR starting 11 would be ... 6 women 5 men, about 30-40% should be afrocaribean, 1 or 2 should be gay....1 should have a learning disability there should be an equal mix for all religions...and at least one representative from the bnp.

Boy we would pay a fortune for a black lesbian jewish woman with autism and odd political views just to make up the quota

Overcoming this is a long process of education...not a quick fix. It took 60 years from getting the vote for a woman PM. It will take as long to educate people away from racism....(and then something else will take its place I am sure)

    Guys,
just to clear things up. i made an honest joke about Col being racist or having racist tendencies.
This was only a (very bad) joke and i appollogise profusely if this has caused any offence.

Col, I in no way consider you to be racist in any way what so-ever and the comment i was referring too was not from you. It was a throw away comment that i may have missunderstood and thats why i didnt mention it.

Col. I'm really sorry if you took this the wrong way and HONESTLY meant no offence by it.

i was running on the old reasoning that swords used to use to G you up every now and again. I realsie now that that was a mistake and badly worded.

Finally and once again Col..i appologise and am sorry if you took offence.

    Q.

Should be the standard everywhere. They practise it in Belgium and Holland, it's a law there to uphold it. Everything from a part/percentege of their wage + sign on fees.

Col has openly protested about Queenslander's inappropriate suggestion which QLDR called a joke. QLDR has apologised for his 'funny' on both threads (this and Col's 'Racism' one - see my closing response on that thread). I will reiterate the fact that Col has never (to my knowledge anyway) made an inappropriate or disrespectful comment regarding race or ethnicity on here.

There are also some unwise and personal attacks on this thread that are starting to wind ME up. Cut out the **** please guys - or we'll have to start invoking those new powers you all so generously gave us recently.

    Cheers.

Totally and utterly uncalled for mate. The guy's done his time (which I repeat WASN'T for the the Jewish thing but rather for a wasting so much mod time over a period of months) so please heed my private advice to you and leave him alone. Thank you.

In response to the call for education for footballers, let's make clear that there's no suggestion that education is aimed at any one part of the community, the proposal is for all.

Secondly, the education called for is general and not focused on diversity training or personal financial arrangements. Higher level general education provides a better understanding of the way life and the world works and tends to create a broader perspective and greater sense of responsibility in people. Absolutely nothing wrong with that at all.

As for black footballers looking to separate representation, I'm not in the least bit surprised. PFA was quite radical back in the day but is patently become a bit hackneyed and establishment. Leave it without challenge and the cobwebs will shroud the real issues of the day. Time for the PFA to smell the coffee and accept the need to respond to the SBF's recent concerns. Again, nothing wrong with any of that. Similar fringe pressure happens all the time outside football.

My apologies, I'm not the forgive and forget type and would much prefer to take it outside with the person concerned.

Agreed, didnt realise it would be taken the way it has been..nothing malicious meant at all...!

Bad post and maybe some would have taken it more as a joke (had i been on the other end of it), but thats no excuse.. Wrongly worded with no intent!

    Absolutely taken back !
