And one of Saturday's players, and one of their biggest threats with ten goals so far, signed a 4 year deal last season, signing until 2018

If we are serious about promotion or securing league one status then we need to start looking at deals like that tohold onto our best players.

I understand what you are saying but unfortunately contracts mean very little in the football world of today - if a Championship side comes in for any of our players they are probably going to double their salary at least and will want to go and once the player wants to go the deal will be made.

But having a player on a four year contract should increase the value of the offer. It also fixes some of the squad , which we have suffered from in recent years.

I agree that should in theory be the case but we sell very few players and having people on four year contracts means the club is possibly committed to shelling out a lot of wages on players who may lose their form or get injured. I am old school and do not much like the constant turnover of players but it seems inevitable in the modern world and is probably only going to get worse.
