Like Frank Gallagher says at the start of each episode of Shameless, some people know f--k all about f--k all.

    Ring any bells Breezey?

I will concede Swansea City is a financially well run club. Ever heard of the Financial Fair Play Rules Breezey? I have no doubt the Swans will comply with these so could it be that our owners are mindful of the advent of the changes ahead, the close examination of each club's finances and penalties for non-compliance? In which case perhaps they are intent on running the club in accordance with the new rules and getting us ahead of the game compared to others. This in turn will stand us in good stead when others are struggling.

Like others on here I believe we have exceeded expaectations this year and will make a much more serious push for automatic promotion next season.

Breezy you came out and said "the last time Cardiff will make the top 6 in years"...based on nothing! The majority of this squad will stay together, and MM will strengthen where he needs too in summer, so that we will be better next season. We have been in the top 6 for 3 years in a row, and we will be around the mark again. Of course, 2 goals on Monday and who knows where we will be yet!

To have a go at our owners (who you insist in calling the Malaysians) is pathetic. They have a debt to work with, and they have already put quite a lot of money into the club. Funny how you are so proud of Huw running the club on a shoestring, but criticize Cardiff for NOT spending beyond our means now. In fact when we did spend a lot, we were criticized then. Our owners are aiming to comply with the new rules, keep Cardiff financially viable, and keep us competitive. MM stated he HAD money in January but he did not find anybody he thought would improve the squad and he was NOT willing to pay an over inflated price.

You seem to think we should be angry that our owners have stabilized us financially, and even suggest we should have PR about. You really are mixed up, and your knowledge of what goes on at Cardiff is deplorable, which is fine until you try to sound like you do know what is going on.

Cheers as well. Just seems strange to have a go at owners who provided a set amount of money, the manager finds nobody of VALUE that will strengthen the team so no buys, and you equate that to no more top 6 chances. Wishful thinking.

Yes we wanted some players but MM said anybody that we could afford would not have strengthen the squad. You may have the same problem this summer.

"To overspend on players first you have to spend a bit" - Okay, as much as I try to work that one out, I can't. Does it mean "To waste a lot of money, first you have to waste a bit"? What would have been the point of spending anything on a player who did not strengthen the squad. Young Harris was bought for the future, and Lawrence has turned in some good performances for us.

Come up with a figure that the Malaysians ( is there something wrong with calling them that , I bet there proud to be ) have spent BUYING players . I don't ever remember a teams' fans chancing there tune on money spent for players so much as you lot . Peter & Dave were put through the ringer to bring in more players even though they spent a fortune but the present owners are doing a great job spending almost nothing really ... amazing . I 'm not talking about breaking the bank , just some fresh legs . We'll see in the future if Malky couldn't find anyone or he was just conforming to not being aloud anything

All transfer costs undisclosed, so we don't know. But it does appear there was a decent transfer kitty, and a reasonable salary cap for MM to work with. As for January, I will say it again, it was MM who stated there was money, but he saw nobody of VALUE. We had an offer of 3 million rejected in January which shows there was money!

If you want to keep saying that our owners have not offered MM money, or did not provide money in the summer, you will have to come up with something better than IMO.

By the way , looks like 870 for Miller ...250 for Mason ... 750 for Turner .. I'll assume peanuts for Harris & Parish. 3 million for Sordell would have been a bargain IMO . I think a I'd like to have Watford's scouting system , a lot talent come out of Watford . All is not lost by the way , just match the first leg score today .

I think it was £200k for Harris, Parrish on a free, don't forget £500k for Malky and I think we paid £500k to sign Kiss full time in the window (2nd March according to Wiki <yikes>). So thats about £3m spent in the season. More than many at this level.

Not really , when you consider with what was left on the bench after last season ... What a job Malky did ,& what he might have done with just a bit more was ALL I was saying . An entire new team for the price of what came over the hill .

Yeah Blue, adding it up it seems about 3.5 million. That is no small change, and rumour was that 3 million was available in January. So 6 million available over the season is a lot! It appears around 4 million will be available in summer as well as TG has said they will provided continued steady financial support focusing on younger players, and if Whitts is sold MM will get a large chunk of that on top! Also the owners have put 30 million into the club already! So it is a little silly to say they are not giving any support.

Yes Siam. I think it might be possible to lose a bit of perspective when residing in the vast open spaces of Canada. Perhaps those sort of figures are a mere drop in the ocean over there.

Malky has done really well this season, especially with the amount of team rebuilding he has had to do. I was hoping for a top half finish, or top ten place at the beginning of the season, so to get a top six position is brilliant in my opinion. I still think another season in the Championship will be better for us, give Malky time to build on the squad to give us more option in depth. I think 2 defenders, 2 midfield and 2 wide men are needed to add more bulk to the squad, and allow a bit of player rotation.

Sorry Exile, but I can't buy that matey.

I see where you (and others) are coming from, but we have the basis of a very good squad right now. It needs those extra players you mentioned to be able to compete with the bottom half Prem clubs. I don't see that an impossibility for Malky and the board in the next 10 weeks should we get through.

We are a long, long way off hoping for anything other than survival up there if it happened, but I'l take that both for financial reasons and for the experience. <ok>

From day one the Malaysians said that they would run City as a business. No more mounting debts and no crazy signing fees. They indicated that they would rather pay the wages to players than lose money by paying over inflated prices for players who may not make the grade or even have the ability but do not wish to play 100% for the club (i.e. the mercenaries). If Malky was certain of a player who he believed fitted the bill for what he needed and had a price tag, then they would support him (e.g. Sordell).

I am 100% convinced that our benefactors will not walk away from the club. Let's rest assured that the Championship is STILL one of the best watched leagues in the world and that, while there is a chance to take it a step further, they must be happy with their lot and the exposure that they are getting.
