Well i personally wouldnt put my money onneither side for the play off semi. The Final though is a different story and id fancy us big time.
Absolutely credit due you're right and a timely morale booster…. but lets not lose sight of who we beat and the context of the game and ask the question of where this performance was against other poor opposition which has cost us automatic promotion.
Bang on this.they wanted it and we were too good for them.great to watch.but why didn't Elmo put that effort in when we needed him.you see.more questions than answers
Based on the fact that City have had a contrary season and will probably do what no-one expects. Yes we have internationals, and sometimes they turn up. Yes we have a manager who still doesn't know his best lineup. Hitting form? We've just lost to an already relegated club, and beaten a bottom club who had nothing to play for. Fit squad? Apart from Powell and Meyler then yes that's the case.
Players need to win this. It's not like regular season games it's an opportunity to show how they can play on the bigger stage. Some will want contract extensions and others will want a move away. We will see three proper performances. I'm not sure Bruce has got it in him for what a full season brings anymore but he's done alright of late in getting us fighting in cup competition. I think that's why he rotated for two games. He knows we can win the playoffs no matter who we play and whatever the order if the heads are right. Rotherham was game 1 and it's going alright. Derby won't be like the regular season games. I'm not suggesting it'll be easy because they aren't a bad team but they're not 6 goals better over two games than a properly focused and prepared Hull City team. We'll beat them in both legs.
Why does this keep getting trotted out. Bruce has to keep his squad interested, a bloody difficult job with this lot. His best line up would be snod rm and Clucas Lm but clucas' form has gone. So a managers best line up changes, due to form, fitness, injuries.
You said his best line up would be Clucas left Snodgers right but Clucas' form has gone. I stated the fact that Elmo is a far better player and Clucas wouldn't be anywhere near our best XI, regardless of form.
Erm. Thats cos Elmo's form went in August. If Clucas's form hadnt fallen off a cliff. Elmo wouldnt have got back in, with Snoddy shifting over. Can we afford to play Hudd, Roberto with his two god awful mistakes yesterday. There'll be no coming back if he does them against Derby??
Elmo should be ahead of Clucas full stop. What two awful mistakes? His two assists? I think we should keep him in but scoring goals goes completely against everything Steve Bruce stands for so im sure we'll see him and Livermore out the team as punishment.
Should be. I agree. But hasnt cos of **** attitude and form. Until the last few weeks. Did you go? You must have seen the mistakes if you did. Gave them the first goal and was stripped off the ball and nearly cost us just prior to it.
He gave the ball away initially but the defence should have cleaned that up far more effectively, they were all over the place. There was a lot to pick at with that goal. No I didn't go, couldn't be arsed to lose a whole day for a nothing game I was convinced we would lose with half a reserve side. I went to the Leicester game instead.
Not watched the highlights yet. He held onto it and tried to turn Frecklington, I think, took it off him and we were in trouble. Derby will do that, thats what they did last two times with him. Then him and Jake were all over the place when they had an easy chance to score. I thought Jake was really poor till he scored. did they show the pass from Mo to Elmo, with his left peg. Pass of the day that.
No literally just the goals on Sky. The club do better highlights on Monday usually. Huddlestones underweighted pas to Robertson hve the ball away for the first goal, didn't see him turn and get caught in posession. Agree Jakes 'challenge' for their goal was laughable. Bottled it completely.
I don't think Rotherham was game 1. But certainly Derby are not the world beaters they were made to look. In the home game for instance Bruce gave them a head start with his tactics and so many chances were missed it was ridiculous. Bruce has actually had his side beaten by two different Derby managers this season.
