One of my best mate's brother in law is a coach at Southampton, they have been told that everything is going ahead on Saturday but to expect serious repercussions from it which could result in loss of jobs/ban for the coaching team. They're very worried and it's been a big distraction for them and the players. Hopefully (and selfishly) we take full advantage of the situation.

Thinking about it, bans for coaches and people knowingly involved presents the EFL with an outcome that punishes those involved and sets a precedent which could/should put others off.....for all that Soton may go up and as a club make a killing financially, those doing the cheating losing jobs having year bans or alike would really act as a deterrent.

Just been to the docs.

After taking my blood pressure three times he asked me " Is there anything you are worrying or stressed about at the moment?"

15 minutes later he wished he never asked! (He was a football fan but as I live 90 miles away he was unaware of the issues. He is aware now!)

I did apologise to the queue in the waiting room as I left.

If true it is a great gesture but as with many of these gestures it ends up going to the wrong people. Fans of 30/40/50 years aint wrestling tramps for a free pint, as you say those days are long gone. Free t-shirts on tiger travel miss out the thousands who drove or went on train to Millwall.

Dont get me wrong, I am not saying it is a bad thing and I really wouldnt want a t-shirt or a free pint, but I do wonder how many who get these treats are long term fans. They must have records of people like Trumpton who have been home and away for decades and are much more worthy of a treat.
Can you highlight the last bit please Jim? Never had a freebie yet. In fact I remember in the days of Martin Fish asking for another serviette in the sponsors lounge ( it was pie and peas) and was told 'Serviettes cost money you know'

if after all this fuss their punishment is something like a million quid or a 3 point deduction, that will be annoying.
if not getting chucked out the competition, the fine needs to be hefty, if they get promoted with a 200 million windfall a couple of million would be nothing.
needs to hefty, and 10-12 points , something that will seriously hamper a promotion/relegation fight next campaign or whats point, all been a massive fuss over nothing otherwise.

The punishing of those actually responsible seems to me the most likely outcome from today with the game going ahead as planned and further sanctions against Southampton to follow, presumably in the way of a significant fine.
If the bans are with immediate effect, which again presumably, they would have to be would potentially have a major impact on their preparation and the actual game itself.

But here's the thing...You're not a million miles away from the truth here!! :emoticon-0148-yes:

'Most' Hull City fans,in 'normal' circumstances would be approaching London in 96 hours,(yes 96).Some,going on Friday in 72!!! Some people have paid for and are flying from far off Countries way beyond Europe or the U.K.Some people are approaching a defined time in a booking agreement where it's 'pay for your dig's now or cancel'?

Yet here we all are still waiting on a decision that could ultimately still see it happening on Saturday or worst case scenario see plans up in the air and pockets hit hard.

This has turned, from a casual glance at a newspaper, seeing the word 'spygate' and chuckling, to an absolute kick in the crotch for your average Joe Public football supporter.

It's absolutely disgusting treating football fans like this and it's already beginning to sour our achievement...
