I have just read on the os that season ticket prices are being upped. @Clb74 is in cloud cuckoo land thinking we're going to get 10k of season tickets by the opening day of the season. Toby all-you-can-eat breakfast is looming for little legs.
I'm pretty sure season ticket sales will go over 10,000 for next season. Championship football is a lot more attractive than another season in League One. Quite a few of those fans who went to Wembley but haven't been ST holders for a few seasons may well think it's the right time to commit again. Of course a take-over would see an additional surge, of more than 3,000 at a guess. The only single event that could put a serious damper on sales would be news of Lee Bowyer moving on to manage a different Club. If no serious efforts are made to offer new contracts and almost all of the out-of-contract players were to leave as a result, that might lower spirits and discourage some possible ST buyers. The huge positive momentum from the Wembley victory can be carried on through the summer or be allowed to ebb away. Unfortunately most of the power to influence that lies in Belgium with RD and trophy-hugger Driesen.
I applied for my Season ticket a few weeks ago. But if Bowyer is not given a new contract I will not be going to the Valley. Bowyer is pivotal to attracting new players and getting some of the ones out of Contract to sign new contracts.
"But if Bowyer is not given a new contract I will not be going to the Valley". After all you have said to me
Sunderland have already signed their first player this summer - South Korean international keeper Lee Gwon.
