Sadly, been, gone and now back Loved middle Dalmatia, though, first time there for me, as have been to Istria and Dubrovnik / Korcula previously. 4 nights in Sibenik, 4 in Trogir, 3 in Zadar - which gave me plenty of travel options. A day in Split, a day on Brač island, stunning Krka national park, etc. Visited three of Croatia's seven UNESCO heritage sites, too, which were all breathtaking. Bloody marvellous. My Merrell walking boots took a bit of a pasting, though!
East coast of USA. New York,Atlantic City,Ocean City,Washington DC,Annoppolis and of course Disney World. In Engalnd Strattford upon Avon never fails to make me happy.
As reported on another thread DH, just returned from Copenhagen and thoroughly recommend it (as would RBF) Clean, tasteful and the people are lovely but take plenty of cash as things are pretty expensive! Pint of lager £8, burger £17 and a small bottle of water £2 odd but if you can swallow that it is a wonderful experience. Tivoli is a must as is a walk up the coast past the Little Mermaid as there are lots of things to see just off that stretch like the Royal Palace (we saw the changing of the guard) and the wonderful churches and Castle. Christianborg (the Parliament building) is worth exploring and the door is open most of the time, finally, the Botanical Gardens are good if you are into plants and stuff and it is free (which you will appreciate) - hope this helps!
That's Plitvice, which was too far from me on public transport. Generally regarded as the 'next best thing' is Krka national park, near Šibenik, which is similar - but minus most of the crowds please log in to view this image
