Actually he isn't go look at where he played for bayern and leverkusen.

Just cos he made a few runs on doesn't mean he's got to.

  2. That's like saying Gerrard had the ability to play the role, it didn't mean he was good enough for it though did it?

He played in a number of positions at Leverkusen including B2B. He also plays B2B at international leve.

His skillsets are better suited to B2B but that's not to say he can't play as a DM.

That's the thing - Gerrard didn;t have the ability to play that role - certainly from a defensive aspect.

Can has at least played in these roles before - ideally, I want him as a CM but because Rodgers refuses to sign a DM, we haven't got a choice.

He did when he was younger. It was the physical not the technical that let him down in that role.

    That and discipline.

  6. Exactly. He did have the ability to play the role. Gerrards limitations were physical die to aging legs, the team setup should have allowed for this.

Can will be similar. It won't be his physicality, it will be his nativity die to inexperience of youth.

Who you trying to kill off?
Both have the attributes but Gerrard never had the discipline/mentality..
    Does Can?

Gerrard could never play that role - players need to be coached to play such roles. He was a victim of his versatility and was used everywhere else.

He was never coached to play a holding role - he was not taught how to be disciplined, tactically aware or how to defend.

Gerrard was a poor DM and an ok CM - not through his own fault or lack of ability but because he simply wasn't coached.

He was a brilliant AM and RW because he didn;t have to play with discipline or restrictions, but not that great at CM or DM - having technical ability it one thing but lacked the mental characteristics .

Actually looking forward to Sturridge coming back - injecting pace and movement in that front line. Him ahead of Firmino and Coutinho is exciting.

shawcross is out of this game.

    thats a loss to stoke.

sturridge is toast... forget about him. I don't care lads he is a short termer now IMO. if he comes back he will get more injuries but he won't have a long career IMO.
