Hmmm, after due consideration - this year is probably not our year...

Two dreadful decisions against Bournemouth, exacerbated by Alan Smith's normal anti-Liverpool bias thenceforth every time Liverpool got any decision. I mean, Moreno was ****ing shoved over then, and Smith says "Doesn't look like anything wrong with that"! And the normal inquest into holding at corners (nothing when the defender was held though) but zero comment at all when Henderson had an arm thrown across him at full pelt in the box that knocked him to the floor. Biased commentary, but undoubtedly the biggest decisions went our way. their goal reminded of Distan's disallowed effort on Carra a few seasons ago. Our goal was offside last season and this season - **** all to do with the 'new' rules; as I argued last season when Herrera scored at preston, you are AFFECTING play when you gesture towards the ball and force a player (in this case the goalie) to adjust their actions.

Anyway, my ratings;

Migs: 5 For all the hysteria, little to do, but looked shaky again in crowded set-pieces.

Cline: 6 proper full back, and it shows.

Lovren; 5 Dreadful start, and was targeted as the weak link by Bournemouth. Improved though.

Skrtel: 5 Okay, Bournemouth played two up and give them a hard time, but as Lovren got better, he got worse.

Gomez: 6 Isolated at times, but has the pace and strength to cope. Nothing going forward.

Henderson: 6 Hope it's not a bad injury as he now looks a calmer influence than milner.

Milner: 5 Hopfully he's finding his feet, but saw nothing that Lucas hasn't given us.

Ibe: 5 faded badly, but got a bit of kicking in the first half, in truth.

Lallana: 5 Did most of his best work in the last 30 minutes defending. Ordinary going forward.

Coutinho: 7 When we weren't lumping the ball to benny in the first half, everything else came through him. faded in the second half again, and needs to practice using his left foot if he truly wants to be in Suarez's class.

Benny: 7 Our MoTM, and would have been 8 but for his Ballotelli like miss. Has a surprising amount of pace that I'd never appreciated.

Subs:

Can; 6 Should have been on from the start.

Firmino: 6 Got himself about from the moment he came on. Ordinary in the final third, tbh.

Moreno; 6 A future at left half? Looks better there.

Team: 6 All said and done, not really put under that much pressure till the last 15 minutes, but feeble going forward except for Benny and Ford. 6 points, but our next fixtures will demand a lot better than what we've shown so far. Start Firmino and Can, and then let's see, but as it stands we're truly mediocre even with Coutinho.

 

We can do without these middle of the table teams poking their noses into Top Four business.

 

We'll see, atm to me he is a younger less fat Enrique.

Dreadful performance against a tentative team. A draw would have been a fair result. Nothing wrong with their disallowed goal, lovren made a meal of the challenge. And clear offside for our goal. How the linesman could not see it is just unexplainable.

But we will take that lucky win and the 3 points. But if we play like that at the Emirates we'll be trounced.
