Blackpool, Blackburn, Portsmouth, Leyton Orient, Wigan, Coventry, Leeds, Glasgow Rangers, Charlton, Wimbledon, Sunderland, the list goes on even the melts at West Ham....what makes your model any different?....you've sold out to NFL FACT!
Our model doesn't involve massive, unsustainable overspending. We've got nothing in common with those clubs. Why on earth do you think we've got poor finances? We're constantly criticised for being too frugal.
Overspending, you having a laugh, how much did your ground cost, how does football sustain that spending are you thick! I will tell you how, you've sold your soul to NFL simple FACT.
The ground is easily covered by the increased revenue, both in terms of ticket sales and Premier League TV cash. That's before you factor in the extra money from the NFL, concerts and the like or naming rights, assuming that we actually sell those. Enormous wage bills kill clubs and ours is substantially less than the clubs around us. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jun/06/premier-league-finances-club-guide-2016-17 City: £264m, Utd £263m, Chelsea: £221m, Liverpool: £208m, Arsenal: £199m, Spurs: £127m, Everton: £105m.
Those are 2016/17 figures. You've increased your squad size, doled out quite a few new contracts and Levy keeps doubling his wages
How do you think you are going to compete, or even win a trophy unless rules come in to curb the spending on players. You are not going to be able to compete by your own example with the likes of City, United and Chelsea unless something drastic happens at them clubs. Even Everton will wipe the floor with you. Your finances are tied up in a massive fooking elephant, its not about the top ground, football is about winning trophies, i forsee West Ham style melt downs.
So why's this been cancelled brb? As you can see from the threads @luvgonzo did it's not a wum but more of a time killer. Could even call it a recruitment drive.
I'm not sure it's craft beer they need to be selling at their new gaff, just stick up a Harvester sign and offer a free salad bar, because that's all the fans are going to be getting next season.
I'm sure you've used the counter argument before brb. Football isn't about winning trophies. It might be the hope of winning a trophy for a fraction of the fans but out of 92 clubs how many of them win a trophy each season? 7, 8,? Been like that for over 100 years now but there are still 92 clubs followed by hundreds of thousands of fans who know their club are unlikely to win anything before the season even starts.
Agree mate. I should have worded it elite prem glory hunting fans....and at Spurs those fans are happy to sell their soul for a dream.
Some Spurs fans seem to think they were always elite PL level ignoring the fact they were largely ****e for the first 15 years of it.
I think that's really unfair to compare all of those other clubs with us!! There's no way all of those clubs were as badly managed by such an incompetent bunch of inept, useless, butt-****ed dumb-arsed bastards as we were!!
