@brb this is a bit long but interesting if you have the time. It's from the TV show that was created by some of The Wu Tang Clan telling their story. In the scene it shows how the genius guy behind it all RZA's mind works and how hip hop records using samples are created. I think it's an incredible scene.

Loved it, watched it all...I'm just glad I'm not the only one that takes ages to go through music, breaking every part of it down, and listening to half dozen different versions before you are happy with what you have absorbed or in his case created. You did exactly that yourself tonight mate, three versions, samples then the video that shows how it's all stitched together. For me all music is created from something before it, you just got to know where or if you can find it. I think a lot of it is stored in the subconscious from when you've heard something sort of like the child and father scenario in that scene. Much like auditory musical hallucinations can be created from long term memories of the childhood past.

Took my youngest back to Uni earlier today - she's in a 'hate ex-boyfriend' phase ... so plays tunes on the car music system that she can sing (scream) her disdain to ... have to say I love some of her stuff ... never too old to appreciate a good tune - even if you've never heard the artist before <laugh>
