My girls introduced me to their girl's music ... and I have to say I'm now a fan ... she's lyrically controversial and writes her own songs... given a chance to support Olivia Rodrigo and not only grasped it but has now surpassed her 'sponsor' ... this particular track is rather good because it tracks her original composition from when a virtual nobody to the venues she now performs in ...

I'm not her type mate!! ... but you'll no doubt like some of her other stuff ...

...try 'Casual' ... the strap line is something else (PG warning) ... was quite unnerving having my daughters 32, 25 and 20 belting it out ... just shook my head and pretended I couldn't hear properly ... although it's very catchy <laugh>

Putting this up - one of the most underrated vocalists in British music history for me - unique - ... first heard this when I was 11 ... and was immediately hooked...

I started out, ok what's this **** Fosse has posted now lol...

Then I thought ok, it's a kid let's give her a chance. Once she eventually relaxed it's like oooo I know this intro, you must have recognised it Fosse? Which I believe now is a piano arpeggio starting with a low E octave.

So I'm now like are we going to get a Gloria Gaynor rendition, nope not at all, actually what she progressed into was quite entertaining. I think the title is very girly so can probably see why your girls like it.

Anyway...

Yup - did recognise

I get 'treated' on trips to Reading Uni <laugh>

She's a bit of a phenomenon and has churned out some real catchy numbers ...

Check out:
Casual
Good Luck Babe

... and the recent

The Subway ...

Don't play Casual in front of anyone not of a 'broader' mind <laugh>

So Springsteen, I'm not a fan but occasionally a song gets me, usually a more acoustic track like The River and I also like covers of his songs more than the original (see Eddie Berman Dancing in the Dark for details).
I then stumble upon the track I posted and then the album Nebraska and it's ****ing brilliant. Striped back old folk style sounds love it.
