I'm not a big fan of them but enjoyed the film.

I've always liked Queen since my late teens, lot of it probably stems from the jukeboxes people use to put on in the boozer, that I use to drink from age 16 - no id checks them days.

Yet strangely enough, I've never ever played any of their stuff as a guitarist, probably because I'd be shhite as a vocalist, and it don't really work without the vocals.

Saw the Queen movie, also saw the Elton movie, I think they both came out around the same time. If I was going by the films, Elton was the more naturally talented artist. Freddie just loved performing.

Read back my own words and decided it was time I found something Queen to learn, without vocals.

Chose Bohemian Rhapsody, solo electric riff. I'm not using the following video, but it's a better example to show...

Not a fan of Elton at all (other than Rocket Man of course). Queen though I have history, News of the World was an album my Grandad owned on vinyl and I would listen to it (along with songs from The Jungle Book lol) when he looked after me when I was about 10 years old.

Later on I was given a mixtape with Hammer to Fall on it so there are some that I like.

It was the cover that grabbed me as a little kid, something that is lost in the Spotify and Amazon era...

Another good night in Liverpool. I'm out with Dave The Flake. He's the lead singer of this band and seems to know all the guys from Status Quo and Dexters midnight runners

I don't know much about him tbh. I just knew he sang on some flake advert hence my Da naming him Dave The Flake. He got up and sang last night, he's still got a decent voice on him.

Was going through part of the solo riff for Bohemian Rhapsody, and there is a run in it that is similar to Shine on your crazy diamond by Pink Floyd. It's quite weird having to replace one tune with another in your head, when that happens - certainly makes the run easier to remember.
