Came across this guys guitar covers for the first time the other day, although he's been on Youtube for over 10 years, just shows the amount of stuff out there we probably never come across...

Gonna watch O brother where art thou later. One of my favourite films. The Coen brothers are total genius.

Anyway, O Brother also has one of the best film scores going. Lot's to choose from, but this Skip James cover is right up there. <ok>

Yes great film based on Homers Odyssey, my fave track is I'll Fly Away by Alison Krauss and Gillian Welch

As far as music in films go Tarantino is king but the Coen Brothers are right up there.

I would also suggest Morricone & John Barry as being right up there too.

No I haven't read it but I'm aware of a lot of the stories from films and things I've read. Can't imagine it's any good though?

Morricone yes but it's the same stuff all the time. I mean more like when the film makers pick a soundtrack more than composers. With both Tarantino and Coens I'm either wow forgot about that track or what's that? They also have a great way of making the music fit.

I haven't read it. I read some of the Iliad when I was a student, but got bogged down it so I tried to read Joyce's Finnegan's Wake instead <laugh>
