I have a cheap Skull Candy pair and there's a big difference. Not so sure it's worth going huge money on headphones but thought I'd get these.

I agree but does he have a decent hi fi? Best present my oldest says I ever bought him was a quality system. Got him a Denon system with tannoy speakers. I'd go there first.
Listens to music through his phone on a Pod or through his Mac book
he’s got a Vinyl player but no system
When I first bought him the system similar to that it was a surprise and you could tell he wasn't bothered. Plugged it in up in his room and put Watcha Want by Beside Boys on full whack. His jaw dropped.
