Given that they have banned me for doing nothing more than (a) speaking the truth, and (b) engaging in banter, I wouldn't want to go back on that basis.

What I want is for there to be a policy of no-banning. That is the only way in which to effectively prevent this type of abuse of power.

I have absolutely no doubts that you and the other Spurs mods exercise your power to ban with great caution and after much deliberation, and having given the miscreant all the rope he needed to hang himself with. However, the problem is that the same power in the hands of the Gooner mods is abused. They don't ban people because the bans are deserved, they banned me because they lack the intellectual ability to deal with my arguments, and they lack the humour to be able to deal with my (non-aggressive, non-insulting) banter. They cannot be trusted to exercise their powers properly or fairly, and they should be denied those powers.

 

Post #121 by RVB is about as misleading and blatantly biased as it is possible to be. The quotes he kept from a deleted thread (strange thing to do?) are all in favour of his special pal HIAG, whereas there were also many against.

I would also point out that my choice of language in some posts has no bearing of whether HIAG was guilty of wumming or not, but is merely pointed out by HIAG's 'special' pal RVB as a form of character assassination. This is a tool oft used by those that cannot win the original argument, much like the reverting to Nazi references etc.

HIAG, not all of your posts were wums and some were actually good reading, but you did set out to intentionally wind up the Arsenal forum members from the start. You succeeded and got a strong reaction - shouldn't you be pleased with yourself rather than feel bitter about it?

Finally, as for heavy handed moderation. I suggest some members look back to the days of the Colonel and how he handled the spurs board. Now that truly was ridiculous and yet he was fully supported by most of the spurs board members, regardless of how bad his decisions were.

I have to say that the Spurs and Arsenal mods have a good relationship and I believe that they all have the best interests of this forum at heart.

We get criticised, when more often than not, the critic only has a small part of the picture and has jumped on a perceived injustice.
When if they knew the wider scenario, they would understand that we don't simply throw our weight around for the sake it.
But that we are actually trying to maintain a forum in the spirit that our members have asked for.

There are some people on this forum who act holier than thou,
whilst their hidden agenda is to disrupt.

Some of these people are also using more than one account,
and are already known to moderators for causing grief in the past.

I think most people on this forum would agree that they don't want their boards plagued by persistent wums returning under another name.

 

I'd just like to point out, having been attacked, that my "heavy handed moderation" saw no complaints from the admins, Spurs fans or the vast majority of Arsenal fans (only the WUMs).

It will give you a clear indication of his intentions.
