Interesting table at the moment........ whilst the top 4 pull away a point or so a week! position 6 has been a fairly stationary axis point for a final EOS points target! Ateam gets there stays a week or so then drops back so points projected are the from a team moving up to de throne them. 6/7 points is not un achievable if chasing a team above you! but it usually needs about 5 / 6 games [ and conquer the old adage "its not about teams it is ours!!! ] there is 10 teams between 4th and 15th, points range is 6 points, and realistically we are = bottom of that pile, next game versus the team we want replace in current 6th. before then 3 teams are looking to do the same Norwich PNE Sunderland! . Norwich could replace them [ Sunderland = points ] we could be 3pts off if we beat them! [ Coventry ] .......
I think in order to have any chance we need to go on a run of 3 or 4 successive wins, our next few games are against top sides amongst them Coventry Leeds and Middlesbrough, we are now in the territory of having to beat these type of teams as they are effectively 6 pointers, not only gaining us 3 points, but denying them any.
The lack of points under Nige and Manning is directly attributed to lack of goals in most games in my humble opinion If Tommy doesn’t score we often get nil and Wells is never going to be prolific If Twine can chip in a few along with Bell and co and we can win a few games, a top half finish could be achieved
We are pretty much at the point that even draws against these teams aren’t enough, we have to beat them.
AGREE TO A DEGREE........ what we need to do is sneak points from top 4 games, if we could get 6 points from the 12 [ need that many to say we are good enough to go up! of the 24 points below us get at least 16 points [ should be more if good enough to go up ] then more than 6 points in the teams trying to do what we are get 6th! thats ... 65 points ......not enough so a measure of the task ahead .... [oh my previous article/ post did state LM WAS 5 -8 points short on the projected NP EOS total! ]
