Thanks DM. I just saw the highlights and it could have been anything (or nothing) judging from those. Chelsea seemed to mount so many seven-man attacks -- Torres, Mata, Hazard, Oscar + any 3 from Lampard, Mikel, Ivanovich, Cole.
On the positive side, we actually played some good football at times. I thought Tettey looked good again, athletic an gets involved at both ends of the pitch (header miss aside). Had we not been playing Chelsea, I think we would have done ok in that game. The defensive positioning when caught on the break looks a little suspect I.e we are too wide and back four are staggered rather than flat. But that shouldn't take too much work to iron out. We always knew this season would be tough, I always thought we'd go down last season but we are still ere and we have a better squad than we have had since the 90's. I still have faith, an I think Hughton can turn things around. I'd perhaps like him to be a bit tougher on the players but I guess that's his nature Oh, and Holt seems to be firing again - happy days.
He might be tough in the dressing room of course. I know it sounds corny, but aside from the poor results, he is the perfect manager for us. A genuine nice bloke who won't have a bad word said about anyone or anything. And he continues to try and play attractive open football.
Good point and we know Trollope was well liked by all at the Gas Heads and had them playing attractive football.
