A stottie is another northern thing. It's bread made with left over dough that the baker plonks at the very bottom of his oven. It's heavy, it's stodgy.

People of the northeast seem to have a real addiction to poverty food of yesteryear. I mean Stotties are just as expensive as any over bread and Ham aint cheap these days. Poverty foot is still ****e but not cheap anymore. Yet they still eat it and love it. It must be psychological. The nostalgia must keep them eating it. There's a world of fantastic flavours out there. I'm more interested in experiencing them.

If it's hard then I'd say it's overcooked.
Personally I like it cut into cubes & eat it raw with cheese & pickles.

    Raw?

I like you Billy, and for that reason I won't make a thread on every board telling them all how disgusting you are.

You need to get help though mate.

That's how I like. One of biggest pleasures for my pallet. Though it's not really raw technically, as it comes already having being cooked. No need to cook it twice imo. The flavour how we like it compared to a cafe that's just grilled **** out of it is worlds apart as you know. Just the thing to complement a pint.

Mate it's not my cup of tea. I love pulses but Pease Pudding would be the last thing I'd reach for.

    Differences . . . .
Raw black pudding is tasty, but raw sausage is dangerous, isn't it ?

Raw black pudding definately isn't a euphemism, either <whistle>

Difference being one is raw meat and the other isn't. Black pudding is already cooked when you get it.

Rooch must have a cast-iron constitution to eat raw sausage and live to tell the tale.

That's just Russian roulette on a plate!

Quality sausage is only raw pork with rusk and seasoning ( as in raw steak ) in a skin, I am not talking Asda sausages where you get 30 chipolatas for 12p. Cumberland sausage is the food of the gods.

Ever heard of Trichinosis? It's why you shouldn't eat raw pork. Basically it's a parasite which also uses rats as a host. It can make you very ill or they can thrive undetected. So you could well be riddled with millions of worms living off your gut undetected. :emoticon-0119-puke: Crack on you nutters<laugh>
