    He has been talking about leaving for a while. Basically seems to accept a pay cut will be required but appears to be mulling over playing at a big club like City, or playing (starting) more regular elsewhere.

    The Hertha Berlin Director of Sport - Michael Preetz - has suggested that Lasogga will make a choice between Hertha Berlin, HSV Hamburg or Newcastle next week.

    “Next week there will be a decision. It is only about three clubs: Hertha, HSV (Hamburg) or Newcastle.”

    If the above is true and it is a choice between a German club or the Premiership, then l think he will want the challenge of the latter.
    Well, here's hoping that he is the start of some recruitment to get excited about. No disrespect intended towards Perez or Colback, but neither of those guys is going to set the world on fire anytime soon

    Rumours in the German media that HSV have had a €6m offer accepted for Lasogga and are likely to complete the signing as NUFC have been wasting time trying to haggle the price down with Hertha Berlin.

    Beaten to the punch by a debt ridden club that will struggle to get the cash together. No doubt we tried so hard but just couldn't get it over the line... If this is true and we miss out on a player who has scored 1 in 2 in the Bundesliga due to reluctance to pay a measly £4.8million transfer fee then it will be ridiculous.



    "However, a report today in German newspaper Bild suggests Lasogga is Hamburg-bound - if the debt-ridden club can put together an 18 million Euros financial package.

    His transfer fee is likely to be about 6 million Euros, and he would demand 3 million Euros a year in wages for a four-year contract.

    But his impact at Hamburg has already been such that they might be willing to push the boat out further than the Magpies."
