Love is club Captain at Morecambe and Love isn't the first word the fans have for him, erratic, poor decision making, a right rick waiting to happen, but certainly not Love.
West Ham supporter saying they've a buy back clause inserted for Ekwah. I don't think he'd jump ship to West Ham if we went up. Does anyone know if this is true?
roker report as well. https://rokerreport.sbnation.com/20...ms-ekwah-includes-sell-on-and-buyback-clauses https://www.si.com/soccer/sunderlan...est-ham-complete-sunderland-move-within-hours
Must be standard for us with these young'uns and trusting they'll not want to go back to their former clubs.
And depends on what the buy back clause is too. A release clause at a certain pre-agreed amount (which I assume/heard the Cirkin one is) would be different to a 'first refusal' if the club chose to sell. Player would have to agree either way anyway.
Damn, that's a real shame. Wouldn't be surprised if they take him back in the summer when Rice leaves. London club and they can probably offer 4x the wages we can, and maybe European football. If they want him back, he'll be gone unfortunately.
If we go the premier league, I honestly think he'd turn them down. If we are in the Championship and they offer him first team football, then I wouldn't be so confident. I dont think they will, though. They clearly don't think a lot of him.
Cirkins is supposed to be 6 million. No idea what Ekwah's is. The lads seem to love it here. We would have to be on a downward spiral for any of them to leave, surely.
Sorry to be a downer but there is not a cat in hell's chance he'd turn them down if they offer first team football and quadruple his wages . He's not a lifelong mackem, he's been here 6 months and grew up in London. Probably all his family and friends are there. He'd jump at the chance, imo. We're relying on West Ham not properly scouting him and/or wanting someone more experienced.
3 games ago there were Sunderland fans saying we need to loan him out to League One next season. He has a lot of promise and has had some excellent games but West Ham knew this when they let him go. They also knew that Rice would be off in the summer. There's no chance at all that West Ham get £100m for their best player and decide that Ekwah is the best option to replace him. The clause might be an issue a year or 2 from now, but not this summer.
I might be wrong but sure he said he wasnt really one for the the big city and bright lights. Plus he grew up in France not London, a product of clairefontaine, so maybe this part of the world is better for him than London. Either way he isnt going anywhere this summer, after only 6 months, in my opinion.
If we are promoted, I assume he's going to be an important first team player. That should mean he'll have an improved contract at a club that he's very happy with and enjoying his football. That lad isn't Messi. West Ham arent going to be quadrupling his wages then and there's also a chance we'll be above them in the league. Why would he then take a backward step?
Thing is though, he's playing first team football week in week out, West Ham didn't even consider putting him in the squad by all accounts. Yes money talks but if West Ham did come back for him, if I was him, I would want guarantees that I'll be playing each game
Why would he consider going back there at the minute? He has only just got into our first team! He clearly thinks very highly of TM and the fact he is willing to play them and manage him the way he does. Or he could go back to West Ham where they didn't even think he was worth going out on loan to see how he did!
Oh aye, lots of ifs and buts. I'm just saying, if they've scouted him properly and realise how good he is / can be, and tell him they see him as the successor to Rice, and offer him wages appropriate to that, then he'd be mad not to, realistically. But I'm not expecting that to happen, especially if they still have dinosaur Moyes in charge. As @Flash Gordon says, next summer is when it's more likely to potentially become an issue (I'd expect the clause will probably expire after that, as Cirkin's does this year if Spurs don't activate it).
