Edited and the bench is now better.

It seems crazy to me that we keep doing this we need to add quality other than quantity.

    6 or 7 squad players

    Spread the risk

Or ideally, 4 squad and 1 worldie

Anyway we can't sign Messi, especially by offering him to play with our academy

Yeah I agree, imo this Summer has been a disaster we've bought players we simply didn't need and have not replaced the quality we've lost.

    Jones
    Flanagan
    Skrtel
    Toure
    Sakho
    Lucas
    Henderson
    Allen
    Sterling
    Sturridge
    Borini

    4-1-2-1-2

    Sakho left back.

Subs : Mignolet, Enrique, Illori, Coutinho, Gerrard, Yesil, Ibe.

No worldies or fantasy signings but that team above beats the actual team Brendan picks 9 times out of 10.

Actually 9 times out of 10 it gets demolished by Brendan's team since Flanno and Sturridge have missed almost every game through injury <ok>

    #playingwith9men

Sakho's been out most of the season too.

  11. Migs
    Flanno - Skrtel - Toure - Enrique
    Lucas
    Hendo - - - - - Allen
    Coutinho
    Sterling - Sturridge

    After adding two players:

    Migs
    Flanno - Skrtel - Toure - Enrique
    Macherano
    Hendo - - - - - Coutinho
    Sterling
    Neymadge - Sturridge

I think the latter team is better than what we currently have. Despite the defence remaining untouched from last season, we'd concede less having a recognised destroyer like Mascherano!!

In no way shape or form do I think Neymadge or Mascherano are realistic, just examples. Realistically, I'd have gone for a younger DM (don't know who though, Di Rossi...?) and Lavezzi

    Migs
    Flanno - Skrtel - Toure - Enrique
    Di Rossi?
    Hendo - - - - - Coutinho
    Sterling
    Lavezzi - Sturridge

The second string for this approach and team would be:

    Jones
    Wisdom - Coates - Sakho - Johnson
    Lucas
    Gerrard - - - - - Allen
    Suso
    Borini - Aspas

Here's my attempt. First let's start with our official first team squad minus the new signings:

    1. Jones 2. Johnson 3. Enrique 4. Toure 8. Gerrard 10. Coutinho 11. Assaidi 14. Henderson 15. Sturridge 16. Coates
    17. Sakho 21. Lucas 22. Mignolet 24. Allen 26. Ilori 29. Borini 30. Suso 31. Sterling 32. Brannagan 33. Ibe 36. Yesil 37. Skrtel
    38. Flanagan 41. Dunn 44. Smith 46. Rossiter 47. Wisdom 48. Sinclair 49. Williams 51. Jones 52. Ward 53. Teixeira - Alberto - Aspas

Next I exclude Flanagan, Sturridge, and Sakho because they have not been available most of the season through injury. (Those injuries were also began in preseason or international duty so if I imagine being brought in as new manager there is **** all I could have done to prevent them.)

    My best team would be:

    ------------- Mignolet
    Johnson - Skrtel - Toure - Enrique
    --------------- Lucas
    -------- Henderson - Allen
    ------------- Coutinho
    --------- Sterling - Borini

Jones, Gerrard, Ibe, Ilori, Wisdom, Teixeira, Alberto

The striker position needs improvement. The depth is non-existent, and a midfield injury leaves us ****ed. So next I use my 2 worldie buys to get Fabregas and Costa (if you want just pick the best CM and ST in the world instead but since these two moved to the PL for £60m this season it's more sensible IMO). Now I have

    ------------- Mignolet
    Johnson - Skrtel - Toure - Enrique
    --------------- Allen
    -------- Henderson - Coutinho
    ------------- Fabregas
    --------- Sterling - Costa

Jones, Gerrard, Ibe, Ilori, Wisdom, Lucas, Borini

(plus Sturridge, Sakho, Flanagan coming in 2nd half of the season)
