We played a similar game called Colditz. Two teams of five or six would make up a word and each member would get a letter each and the other team would try and catch you and beat you up to get your letter. One they had all the letters they had to guess the word. Educational and painful at the same time. Like being at Catholic school.
And 'games' were always so much more 'colourful' after we had our TB jabs - what a bloodbath ! (happy days).
At primary school we played "Redcoats and Zulus" - pretty much the same script as all kick **** out of each other games.
