I don't think that Louis van Gaal hasn't got enough dosh for the usual 'brown envelopes' that apparently abounded during red nose's tenure. I reckon referees could be turning them down and are scared sh*less after all the top dogs in FIFA have been carted off by the FBI and can see themselves doing a five stretch when their shenanigans becomes public (which it will - eventually). If almost the whole top echelon of FIFA is facing sharing a cell with big Bubba on D wing, a part-time ref who might have taken a few quid to sway a result in English football has got no chance. Why else could the Chavs go from champions to strong candidates for relegation in a matter of weeks? OK Utd's squad is a bit pants at the moment, but they're definitely not getting the decisions they used to. Could it be because those little decisions are no more? The offside that wasn't but led to the winning goal, the free kick just outside the box in the extra time to extra time or the second yellow that really wasn't and the numerous other small advantages these teams got that made the one-goal difference?

I think its quite simple they are not in the pen area so the refs can't award a dodgy pen.

they hardly ever run behind so dodgy offsides are hard to give.

then fergie time is rare to as usually utd want the game to end not keep going
