You wouldn't see Ailsa Craig from Kilmarnock anyway mate. Royal Troon is where you want to play. Prestwick St Nicholas is another cracking course right on that coast. Fife has lots of great links courses. Burntisland is good one. Kinghorn is also great.
I did play Prestwick St Nick. Absolutely superb. Was using my poker chip ball marker from there this very afternoon! Stayed in Ayr, wasn't actually in Killie but The Barassie course is Killmarnock Golf Club, despite being on the coast. Ayr= ****e, Prestwick = good night out. Was how I discovered Gerry Cinnamon.
You know that shortish par 4 just before you cross back over the road? 14th or 15th? Three wood to 15 feet then unerringly middle of cup for eagle. Was the highlight of the weekend. For everyone. Just saying like.
Was it you that asked me about Ayr a few months ago. I seem to remember saying it was a ****hole. Shooting Eagles eh. You must be a ringer.
Probs, yeah. I played ****e otherwise. Could barely say my own name by fourth day. Belleisle in Ayr? Although had a good un at Barassie, was fookin freezing that day.
+1 for the Emerald Isle I nearly drowned near an island off of Doolin once, which incidentally is a wonderful little village renowned for its woollen jumpers
My French bro in law, lost a rental car to the sea off Achill. Drove to the waters edge at low tide and went kite surfing, got back in time to see just the roof sticking up out of the water. He'll never live it down as long as I'm around.
Converted garage. Made it into a home theatre/computer room. Smallest but most used room in the house
