If we do this..it will be the hard way. Faulin, Austin, Simpson and now Phillips all as near as dammit season ending injuries Ned, Hoillet long-term injuries just getting over Injury problems for....... AJ, Barton, Yossi, Zamora and Young (nobody cares), Have I forgotten anyone
I thought of those too, but they aren't really having any impact on our promotion bid, likewise Cesar's broken fingers. All part of a good conspiracy theory though.
We're still paying them, and they (Cesar too) feature in my Rioja fueled dreams of a future QPR (along with Adel and Remy). But not this season......we've got some seriously good players on our books.
If Phillips is indeed out for the long term, I hope Junior can maintain his excellent performance of yesterday. We're lucky to have that sort of quality on the bench.
It was heartening to see Hoilett actually fight for the ball and go past someone to lay on Maiga's equaliser - but it's been a far to rare an event. For most of the match he seemed unwilling to take on the defender and more often than not ended up fannying around and losing the ball. Very much hoping an extended run in the team will give him the confidence to use his pace because he has the potential to be a devastating winger.
We have enough to cover and that in itself says a lot about our club ... Take stock lads when we slag off players for this and that. Matt Phillips would walk into any team in this league and half of the premiership teams and he hasn't even started playing well for us yet well as well as he can. We have SWP, Hoilett, Yossi, T
But needs to track back & help defence ref there 2nd goal where the bloke had acre's of space to cross the ball & the rest is history.
Agreed - got to be one area where SWP (for all his faults) excels - he does understand the importance of helping out his right back
The season to date was a bit predicatable, almost boring, thus very un-QPR'ish. But the activities of the last week have certainly strained the emotions for various reasons. Charlies' injury and panic stations, last day signings sage, goals by the debut boys as well as a superbly entertaining match, Matts' injury, etc. I wish a quick and speedy recover to all the injured plyers. But perhaps the "rollercoasterish" events of last week may be the the maturing of a new great team spirit? I certainly hope so. There is all to play for and the next two games will be very telling. I can't wait to watch them!
We're not lucky are we, Ale, Charlie, Danny, now Phillips, all pretty much 1st 11 players all out for the rest of, or most of the rest of the season. Then others have been out a lot too - AJ and BZ (no surprise), Jenas, Cesar, Hoillet and probably a few I am missing
Gutted, he was hitting his peak. Not like us to do everything the hard way. Never know, might have all the injured players back for the play-off final
Don't say that couldn't stomach another play off final, the last & hope only one was too hard to take, shame about phillips starting to look ok, leicester & burnley have been extremley lucky as yet, how would they cope with 4 out for the season!
Our luck has been fairly unbelievable. Of the players we didn't want to lose; Austin, Phillips, Faurlin, Simpson would be near the top of the list. Let's not forget Onouha's impressive form being cut short by his hammie injury... A small sliver of hope was Traore's best performance for us on Saturday. He gave the best fullback in the division (trippier), a torrid time. He's got springs in his heels, and will win every header lofted his way- particularly in the 1st half, whilst fresh. Hope it continues.
Very unfortunate for him and the club - initially that incident appeared quite innocuous when he turned over by the corner flag.
