No thanks - if he isn`t good enough for Everton any more, then not good enough for us. He`d just occupy a squad place, and prevent youth coming through - not NC`s style to sign old timers either.

If we are looking for some experience then I think Flamini would be the better option. At 29 he still has a lot to offer at the top level and probably has a good 3 or 4 years left in him. He would provide us with good competition for Cork and Schneiderlin, whilst giving us the option to rest or rotate them. His high energy, tough tackling game would fit in perfectly with our system and he is technically a top quality player. By the time he is ready to call it a day Prowsey will be just about ready to start bossing things in midfield. Obviously his wages may be a stumbling block as he is on big money at Milan having moved there from Arsenal on a Bosman.

I agree...if he feels he can't cut it for Everton anymore, why would we want him? Our team is being built by design...we are not a team that needs a sticking plaster player.

Even him - I'm just not sure he'll bring any hunger. We're smalltime to him - from playing CL football for two of the world's biggest clubs to an end of career easy street on the south coast. I struggle to see where the hunger will come from - prefer players with a point to prove and the desire to win something and prove (and improve) themselves.

You said it, his wages would be problematic I think.
