What do you think of this lad, a shifty Cockney, a pain in the arse or a memorable musician?

The ladies went mad for his music in the 80/90's and that's what probably extended Genesis's life span. Noel Gallagher hates him but that is probably media ****, he was classed as a pompous Tory that said if Tony Blair got into office then he would bugger off and did to Switzerland but he seemed to **** up there too.. :)

In my defence of him, he once lent a lad 1500 quid in the 70's to stop him being evicted but it was probably Peter Gabriel that did that.. :)

So what do you lot think about this iconic man..? A tune to refresh your memories.. :)

I didn't like how it became cool to take the piss out of him by left wing comedians like Ben Elton and other smart ass ****wits.

I liked a couple of his single albums.

A decent singer songwriter.

I agree about the politics , though buggering off to Switzerland means he’s just looking after himself , just wish they would all be honest about it .

His 2 sides of the Atlantic for live aid was good I thought .

Turned Genesis into a soft rock pop band so not a fan.

They went down hill the moment he took over as singer/songwriter from Peter Gabriel, although a couple of albums were decent at the start, notably A Trick of the Tail.

He's not even that good a drummer.

My mum liked his music, then I got her listening to stuff like Massive Attack and Portishead... She is now cured!
